No, I don't believe contacts are a pain. In fact I have been a contact lens wearer for about 15 years now. The best thing you could do is go to your doctor and have a contact lens exam. What the doc will do since you are a new wearer is order in trial lenses for you in the brand he/she thinks will suit your eyes the best. After you try them out for a week the doc will re-evaluate you to make sure that they are working right for you. There are many many different contacts out there now made for people that may have dry eyes, or eyes that tear to much etc.
I say give it a try you'll be pleasantly surprised. :)

I've been wearing contact lenses since I was 16 I'm now 22. The only problem I've had with them was when i was younger during the fall/spring months I'd have to wear my glasses because I had bad allergies, and my eyes just refused to have contact lenses. My allergies aren't as bad now and I wear them all the time! I don't know about this 'grainy' feeling that might depend on the brand. I have been using the acuvue brands and have never had a problem with them in my eyes and I wear them all day long. I never feel them and the only time they have hurt was when i put them in wrong (i was half asleep at the time, forgive me! lol)

You will need to get contact with a high water content to avoid the grainy feeling. Also if you play sports you will still need protective eye wear. They are easy to take care of, but do take time out of your day. The daily wear are best for your eyes. The 1-2 week leave in kind are more prone to bother your eyes or cause infections. They can take some getting used to, but most people find them easy to deal with after the first few times putting them in and taking them out.

Glasses are a pain. Contacts are a big step up from that. After you've had contacts for a while, you'll want Lasik surgery. You should definitely get contacts if they've been bothering you for so long. They don't hurt you at all, they just take awhile to learn how to use. Once you do, it's the best thing in the world. They do get a little dry after 10-12 hours of wear in the day, but you're not supposed to wear them all day anyway. I think they're great, but it gets tedious to wear them every day.

Speaking as an older person, I find that wearing contacts isn't nearly as comfortable as it used to be. At one time, I could pretty much wear them all day. Now, I can't wear them for more than about five or six hours at a time. My eyes get dried out and the contacts become uncomfortable. Dry eyes are more common in middle-aged people like myself and it doesn't help that I happen to live in a dry climate.

I ware contact 24/7. I have a brand that you keep them in for 30 and 30 nights then toss them out. I have very bad eyesight so this is the best thing next to great eyes. I have never had red or sandy eyes. The ones I have are made by CIBA best ever!

Okay...I've had contacts since I was like 8 years old. I'm a dancer, and even at 8 I couldn't deal with glasses. At first, contacts can be kinda time consuming. Taking them out and putting them in took a while to get used to. I've never had problems with my eyes drying out while I'm wearing contacts. Just make sure that you always store them in a good solution to keep then moist and clean. Once you get used to them and as long as you don't mind touching your eyes, they are great! Good luck!

Contacts do take some getting used to... and for awhile you will see once you have them in, only as you may word which you have been donning glasses once you first have been given them. at last, you discover ways to forget approximately approximately it, and it feels established. yet they unquestionably should not be inflicting soreness. There may be countless reasons for that, nevertheless. you have a poorly installation lens, or the lens must be broken or warped. soreness is additionally brought about via debris getting trapped decrease than the lens. it may additionally be that your eyes are only overly dry and choose moisture (rewetting drops are constantly sturdy to have). despite you study the in wonderful condition of the lens replaced into a hundred% incorrect, besides the indisputable fact that. The lens shouldn't "in wonderful condition around your cornea". it is going to cover it totally. A precise installation lens could slightly overlap the iris (the coloured area of the attention). additionally, as somebody who has astigmatism and wears contacts, i'm able to inform you that there are a lot of innovations obtainable for you. I positioned on 2-week disposables via AcuVue. There are different manufacturers that still make a million-month and 3-month disposables, and that i'm fairly particular you may get dailies for astigmatism besides, nevertheless they're critically extra high priced.

Each person responds to contact lenses different. There are also all kinds of contact lenses. I'd recommend going to the optomtrist and trying on different contact lenses and see which ones feel the most comfortble for you. Some contact lense brands feel heavier then others. It just depends which one your most comfortble with.

In most cases, contact lenses are comfortable. You just want to discuss all your options with your optometrist about which brand to wear. And never sleep in them. There are too many risks involved when you do. You will definitely love them if you play sports. Good Luck!!
