Last night I dreamed that my husband & I were going to see a movie.About 10 minutes into the movie it stopped & we thought there was a problem with the power.Apparently it was something bigger because no one was being allowed to leave -government orders.Hurricane Katrina & people being stuck in the Superdome came to mind in the dream. We saw some people leaving, so I convinced my husband we should leave too.We got in the car & I said,"We should go straight home."However, my husband decided we should stop to have the oil checked. The guy behind the counter in the auto place said he would have to tow our car back to the theater & ask if we were supposed to leave before he worked on it.I didn't know how he knew who we were& I got agitated while he was gone. I was thinking, If only we had gone straight home! Right after thinking that I saw a lady we know (who is old enough to be my husband's mother - she is someone my husband used to confide in from before we began dating.

I am not deformed or anything and I don't have terrible acne. I can't control my facial expressions. I see other people walking around and when their not engaged in conversation they seem to be able to maintain a somewhat neutral facial expression that doesn't look peculiar. They seem relaxed and content. But when I see myself in pictures, my expression is always different than I think it should be. I'll be feeling fine and not upset, but then sometimes I'll see a picture of myself and I have this serious, almost angry exprssion on my face, even though I'm not angry. Sometimes I think I'm smiling in a picture and it turns out that I have a blank expression or flat affect. I notice when I'm talking to people, say for example, a cashier, they give me weird looks and by the end of our transaction they just avoid eye contact with me. But then their friendly with other people. It's like my facial expressions are inadvertantly turning people off. I can't make make the right expressions.

I was diagnosed as 'clinically depresed' a long time ago, like 15 years ago. I feel I have more symptoms of BPD or bipolar II. I am currently being treated with Zoloft, 100mg a day, and seemed to be doing alright - not great, but alright - for quite some time.

Recently, I stopped taking birth control pills. I was taking Seasonale, which I was told by my obgyn was a low dose pill. This has coincided with a dramatic resurgence of many of my problems, including anxiety disorders, major mood swings, and suicidal idealogy. I have held a job for the past six weeks, but my job involves approaching people and asking them questions. Which I know find I cannot do without suffering a panic attack. Things had been going well at home, but of course my mood and anger towards everything is now jeopardizing that.

Has anyone had issues with birth control pills and depression like this?

I'm 18 and have been diagnosed with ADD. I've been on and off 30 mg of adderall for about 6 or 7 years (I would stop taking it after a while because I stopped feeling its effects.) I've always noticed it to have a speed-like quality. Are those who have ADD not supposed to feel this? Could this really put me at risk for amphetamine-induced psychosis?

Don't you agree? You can go all day not worrying about something but once the light goes off there it is looming over you like a black cloud.

Also, on a lighter note, what's the silliest thing that's kept you awake that seemed like nothing in the morning? I'm good at that one! Even remembering to put the bin out the next morning can startle me awake during the night. LOL

Has anyone here ever been helped by talk therapy? If so why? I actually don't like going because it becomes boring and annoying.
I've been to many therapists but it's all the same to me. I take meds too that don't work at all. I don't know how to get better on my own. I've had severe depressive episodes for 15 years and they only get worse..I am 26

I'm switching from Paxil 40 mg to Wellbutrin. I took half doses (20 mg) for five days while taking the Wellbutrin. My doctor told me to take the half dose of Paxil for another week but I don't want to. This is my second day without any Paxil. I'm only taking the Wellbutrin. Is it okay to stop the Paxil now and how long does Paxil stay in your system?
