I have two reasons that why it could be, one which is that I have flat feet and the other is that I have a sleeping nerve in my neck that causes pain. I really don't know what it is but I have had it for 3 years now.

Hey there!
Getting my tonsillectomy done in the morning and I have a few jitters about it.
Im sure I can contact my dr, but wanted to see if i could ask someone on here who may have some personal experience!
1) i know not to wear makeup or lotion or anything, but is nail polish *on my toes* ok? Sounds weird i know..but curious!
2)I have a tongue piercing, and was told I may have to take it out for the 1/2 hr procedure. Does anyone know if this is the case or if the hospital will allow something sterile to be put in so it doesnt close up?
3(I have tylenol with codene as well as liquid lortab but Im such a little girl when it comes to pain! Does anyone know of any home remedies that will help?
4) and finally.. and tips/tricks (besides the whole dairy products thing, and eating cold foods and drinkin lots of water..I know that stuff.. but anything else?)

Thanks for any help!

You use it like a heating pad. I'm not sure what you use as the filling. I heard rice but don't know if that will work. If you think you know please tell me. Thanks.

I have DDD in my neck which makes my arms and hands numd and a herniated disc in the L4-L5 region. That has been since Aug 2006. I have been on pain meds all this time. When I went to see my new Pain Management Dr. he said I will never get better and the shot I will recieve in my low back probably won't work. He gave me even stronger meds and all I said to him is my whole body seems to be going numb and I can either feel my neck pain or low back but not at the same time. He said I cannot lift, twist, or garden. Not gardening is going to be the hardest. I have 2 pain meds and 2 nerve pain meds. I can barley function on all this, should I go on disability? And any other advice would be helpful too. Thank you.

Does anyone with migraine headaches take percocet or vicodin for migraines? Mine are daily migraines. I had some percocet left over from when my wisdom teeth were removed and it makes all the pain go away and makes me feel good, but now I've run out. Imitrex doesn't work for me. Should I ask my doctor if I can get percocet for them? I'd be taking them on an almost daily basis if the headaches continue that often. I know they're addictive. But I would put up with withdrawal symptoms in the future if I could stop these debilitating headaches now. How often are narcotic painkillers prescribed for migraines/headaches, and what are the circumstances involving the doctor writing the prescription? Is it usually the last option if everything else has failed? Or is it something most doctors routinely would prescribe? Thanks..

My husband presented a couple of weeks ago with moderate back pain. It went away on its own. This past weekend brought us to the ER with severe back pain that he rated at 8/10, he's passed kidney stones before, so the score is not to be sneazed at. They gave him panadole, biprufen and morphine, the pain stopped. After what was presumed a negative blood in urine test and a couple of hours they sent him home.

My question is as he's had kidney stones before (11years ago) and his probability of having kidney stones again is very high, should this diagnosis have been dismissed? Does it warant further investigation (I.e. ultrasound and/or CT scan).? I would think so, but perhaps I'm being over critical. I'm not happy they are leaving it. Isn't it important to know there is something there even if it's not travelling at the moment. My thinking is if there is stones, and they turn out to be too big to pass, they should be blasted! Why put him through unnecessary pain if it can be avoided?
