Fluids! When you get dehydrated you lose vital electrolytes. Severe dehydration can result in hallucinations, loss of cognitive function, cardiac dysrythmias, heart failure, coma and death. You can quickly dehydrate if you exercise vigorously, vomit consistently or have continuous diarrhea. Drink plenty of water, gatorade is good too. You can even use children's Pedialyte. When you eat, don't chow down on fat and high calorie foods and snacks either. Eat easy to digest healthy foods to replace lost vitamins, minerals and electrolytes.
