My mom is having a really bad backache and has trouble sleeping at night because of it. Anybody has any tips on how to relieve the pain? She said that it is in contact with her knee. Please help me out! I'm afraid she won't be able to walk in years to come if this keeps on -0-.
Thank you very much!

I have osteo arthritis. I was on morphine based pain killers but suffered serious side effects. My GP took me off the tablets but i am in terrible pain. I have a tens machine which helps during the day but the problem is lack of sleep at night.
My mattress is not a problem as i sleep ok sometimes. But when i get a flare up the pain wakes me and keeps me awake..
I have regular injections in my spine and hips and am having knee surgery on Wednesday.
Can anyone suggest alternative ways to help with the pain?

ok so since last saturday i've been sick and out of no where my left ear drum plugged up and it started to pain really badly. after a half hour or so it was feeling better and it unplugged. then few mimnutes later the right ear drum started to hurt and began to plug. after i fell asleep and woke up. the pain was gone and my ear was still plugged. so i tried everthing to unplug it. drink water, chew gum, swallow, and plug my nose and breath out. and its been plugged for a week now. its really starting to bug me because i can't hear that well out of that ear now since its plugged.

is there anything i can do?
should i go to the doctor?

I always get leg cramps. Why not other parts of the body? Why a calf muscle one day or a hamstring the next?

It happens after I've been up and moving around for a while, and wont stop. Its getting bad, and I don't know what it might be. Modesty aside, I am a size DD, and my ma' says that's what's causing it...but wouldn't that make both my shoulderblades hurt? Any suggestions? And please don't say 'go see a doctor' or something like that.

I can't go see a doctor, we...don't have health insurance. Any other suggestions? Maybe food, sleeping ways, or hell even BRA tips? Something, anything that might work, its getting really bad. And its only after I've been moving around for a few minutes to a few hours. At the end of the day, when I lay down, there's like this pressure being lifted off my back, and its almost painful.

Or is that normal? Meh...I don't know. All I DO know, is that my shoulderblade hurts, I can't sleep and I'm sick of hearing chest jokes. And lame ones at that.

My wife is having serious pain in her leg and it's been 2 days since the procedure, should we be alarmed at all? I can't find jack squat on the net, and it is concerning me. Any sound advice on this matter would be much appreciated.

He didn't seem in a hurry to do anythingg, but I almost can't stand up. I work as a grocrey cashier. I am suffering and barely able to stand. I have to hold myself up with my arms. What makes the doctor so unconcerned while I am dragging my self to work? What can I do to get some results from him? I am seeing my primary care physician Tuesday (to tell him what the other guy is doing/not doing). The specialist said I would get an MRI, but didn't say when. My next appointment is in April. That seems like a long time away. He also said he might put me on temporary disability, but , again, didn't say when. Why do doctors take this approach? I spent all day suffering and complaining that the doctor had the day off and he wasn't in pain!

So I sprained my ankle again for the upteenth time. I'm icing it as I usually do, but I know for some injuries it's twenty minutes heat, twenty minute ice. Does this apply to a (severe) sprained ankle too? And if so, for how long a day?
