My mom is having a really bad backache and has trouble sleeping at night because of it. Anybody has any tips on how to relieve the pain? She said that it is in contact with her knee. Please help me out! I'm afraid she won't be able to walk in years to come if this keeps on -0-.
Thank you very much!

My doctors tell me ice...but I secretly use heat...it feels better to me. Have her stretch as best she can. If no prescriptions are available...ibuprofen work best I think. If she goes to the doctor, I prefer Muscle Relaxer Flexeril, Steriod Packs and Pain relief Vicodin or Lortab. Her doc may order xrays or an MRI. Good luck to her. There is NOTHING worse than a bad back.

Go to the source of most pain - muscles. The best book to explain fully what I mean is The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It not only tells what is going on but how to help yourself - I would think that you need someone that is already aware of this to get you progressing. I use a chiropractor who is a muscle specialist and uses an activator (instead of manipulation) along with a massage therapist.

Try taking about 3-4 advil, heating pad, and rest. Back pain can be pretty brutal and rest is usually what relieves it.

I would suggest a good chiropractor. I use ice to help ease the pain between times.

Look into traction. Inversion is a great way to relieve pinched nerves.
