I self-injure quite often. (just an explanation, this isn't a mental health question; I'm asking for medical advice).
So, I just bled a lot and I feel slightly dizzy and very thirsty. Is there any reason to be extremely concerned about this? Should I just drink water and lay down somewhere?

A few weeks ago I was equally violent toward myself, and ended up feeling very dizzy, hysterical, and tired. I ended up more upset than I had been before hurting myself, and I wonder if that was from the blood loss...
Obviously, if someone isn't getting enough oxygen to their brain it could effect their emotions, right?

Well, other than the obvious (discontinuing cutting and/or calling a hospital), what should I do in situations like this? Like, I've lost just enough blood to feel it, and I'm a little shaky on my feet, but I've never passed out before.

Yes, I want to stop doing this. But, there are relapses. I just want to be prepared for them...

I am in football right know and i was recently injured when a dove for a fumble and a few people landed on my bent knee. I went to the doctor 2 days ago and they took and xray and it had nothing to do with my bones so the doctor said it appeared to be either cartlidge or a ligament. When i injured my knee i felt a sudden sharp pain only for abouit a minute then the pain went away for about 30 minutes. I didnt hear a pop but I was in the middle of a pile up and everyone was yelling so i dont know if it did pop. Ive been using crutches the past days but my knee only hurts when i try to walk without them for more then 10 steps. My doctor said she will give me a MRI in 2 weeks. I feel the pain in the bottom and back of my knee and i cannot make my knee straight at all. i wanted to know if anyone had an idea of my problem. THanks.

i was at practice and i think i hyper-extended my leg and i jammed my knee. i walked it off and everything was fine but then i had to play in goal the next day at practice because i was the goalie. then i tried kneeling down to get the ball and i couldnt even do it because a shooting pain went through my leg. i kept playing because i wouldnt do that to my team and then it went away so there was no pain but i rejammed it the same way and it went back to the way it was. pain shooting up my leg. now when when i walk sometimes there is a discomfort on the outside of my knee and there sometimes is popping and i can feel it. i am going back to the doctor in like june but i was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong with it. and i also think it may have to be popped back in place.

Today, my 12 year old daughter and I were rambling through some woods when we found a badly constructed rope swing, by that I mean the rope was tied to the trunk, not an overhanging branch.

Naturally, I proceeded to wang myself around on the end of it. Much to her amusement. My daughter was less confident, so, I told her she was a chicken until she did it.

Not understanding the dynamics of rotational inertia, she went for a straight swing and, reaching a peak of exitement, swung back straight into the trunk causing a big swollen shoulder, massive lump on head, nausea, dizzyness and temporary loss of vision.

She got all the necassary treatments, and she's good now.

Whatt do you reckon??

Should I turn myself in??

I hit my pinkie toe 7 days ago, bending it away from the foot. When I hit it I heard a crack. It didn't turn black and blue, but now the joint is swollen and it hurts pretty badly when I bend it. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I would've gone to a doctor, but I was told they don't do anything for toes.
Thank you in advance!

After falling and hitting a rock solid sheet of ice, my boyfriend's big toe experienced severe trama. The toenail was still attached, but we knew it would fall off eventually. It did fall off about a month later, but now (two month after it fell off), only about half of the nail is grown back. Wondering what kind of remedies might help to encourage faster regrowth. Right now he is using neosporin and covering it with a bandaid. Any help?

I applied Anti-Biotic Ointment on my face below my cheek bone and my left elbow, and collar bone. The wound on my face is slightly deeper than normal but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Should I worry about getting Cat Scratch Fever?

Hey guys. I have just for 2 weeks have had some wrist pain. It is mostly on my right wrist and both sides of the right wrist has some pain when, like, playing basketball or sometimes when using it in certain twisting motions and sometimes when writing. The odd thing is sometimes my left wrist is painful and it's on both sides of the left wrist as well. Although the left wrist recently feels much better and there's not much pain there. But it's not from trauma, the pain anyway. I just did some pushups actually and there wasn't any pain in the wrist, just like kind of tiredness? The pain is pretty mild though nothing severe. But the thing is it isn't the bone, but like I guess ligaments on the sides of the wrist. I look forward to your replies. thanks.

Hello, 6 days ago I fractured my ankle (hairline fracture at the bottom tip of the fibula). They gave me a temporary cast at the emergency room and a day later an orthopedic surgeon gave me a splinter looking thing (long padded "boards" on each side of my leg held by two straps that wrap around my leg with velcro). My ankle has full movility with this, but it does protect the tender spot in case I hit it accidentally. My ankle is swollen and black but I'm in no pain unless I put pressure on my foot or touch the area. But I keep reading that people with similar fractures are immovilized with a cast or a boot. I was wondering if anyone had a similar breakage and what was used on the ankle... Thanks.

so i work at an office in a hotel, and my foot is swollen (long story, but i cant go home) so room service brought down 2 ice packs...one is an air tight sealed pack full of ice, the other is a "glacier ice gel refrigerant". she said "use that one, if you want, it's better..." bu the gel one is for packing to keep your food cold! and it says on the pack "DO NOT APPLY TO BODY" i found out its a pack for food online...but why would she give this to me if it says i shouldnt? should i try it, or just keep it for my lunches, and stick with the other ice pack? weird lady ....

I live in an apartment in the dallas area that does not offer handicap access for residents. I was wondering are apartments required to have handicap parking or some form of disability acess for residents who have trouble walking? If so, who would I need to contact?

If you had an accident how long did you put off the surgery? If you were diagnosed with arthritis, etc., how long did you wait before you decided it was time to go under the knife? Was the pain unbearable and ,if so, how did you cope? Which medicines worked best for you? Did you do any kind of at home treatments that helped? Thanks in advance!
