Just as Wildwood said sounds like a Herniated disc causing Sciatica wait to see the doctor Tuesday the hospital won´t class this as an emergency does not usually come on over night will need x-rays or MRI scan to locate the cause of the pain it won´t get better on it´s own he should rest and take some pain relief like Ibuprofen for the inflammation
That´s my advice but then again you must make up your own mind good luck

Check here a very effective Sciatica Natural Treatment ( http://cure-sciatica.info )
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

Hospital straight away, this could be a slipped disc.
It might just be a trapped nerve but i'd rather play it safe and get a medical opinion. I realise he is gonna be in a lot of pain but try and keep a list of what medicines he has taken and let the paramedics know.

Ouch!
My mother used to get those all the time. But then, she had a herniated disk too.
It does indeed sound like nerves are involved. You could try giving him a strong pain reliever and a good massage, and use moist heat to relax his back. I'm not sure the hospital could help him that much- but it wouldn't hurt to try.
I sure hope your husband feels better!

He should either call out an emergency doctor or go to hospital. If he has nausea - then hospital and no food or drink first. It could be a lot of things - so I won't speculate - get a professional opinion - they have scanners these days - that should show what the problem is.

sounds like your husband might have a herniated disc trapping his sciatic nerve. Dont leave it and get to the GP as soon as possible. The earlier it is treaded the better

sounds like a pinched nerve to me. if there wasn't any muscle strain. if there was then maybe a pulled muscle. but just keep him off his feet for a day or so and see how it does. if its still bad go to the doctor they may give him a muscle relaxer to relax the muscle around the disc pinching the nerve.
