The slightest touch would hurt unbearably and probably both eyes would be black if it were broken.

It might be broken slightly, but I'm not sure. It doesn't matter if your parents are out of town; you can still visit the doctor. Try to get a hold of them over the phone and ask if they will arrange to pay for a doctor's appointment. If you can't get in touch with them, contact your cheerleading coach, your school nurse, or even one of your other adult relatives. I am sure that there is some way for you to get medical attention.

If the swelling is gone now, you probably didn't break the nose. In the meantime, though, take an anti-inflammatory drug like Advil or some other kind of Ibuprofen. If that still doesn't help much, try VERY GENTLY holding an ice pack to your nose. Both of these things will help with both the pain and the swelling.

I hope that your nose feels better soon!

You need medical attention. Go see a doctor and call your parents! If you can't get a hold of your parents have a friend, or a friend's parents (ANY ADULT) take you to the emergency room. Black eyes and swollen noses are nothing to trifle with. Call you cheer coach.

Get off line and get some real help, asap! Take some ice with you on your way to the hospital or doctor.

If you're old enough to be left home alone, you're old enough to go to the doctor when you need it.

You may have broken it, quite possible actually, but even if you go to the doctor, they won't be able to do anything. My horse broke my nose on both sides, had 2 black eyes, lots of bleeding. They took X-rays only to make sure my eye socket wasn't broken.

It's going to hurt for a while, and you should have it checked by a doctor to be safe, but I don't think it's urgent to see a doctor since they don't do anything but pain meds for broken noses. Can't put a cast there.

Give it a few days to a week, and you will be feeling and looking better.

Good luck!

See a doctor! I broke my nose and it bled like a faucet. My eyes never bruised or showed signs because for some reason I don't bruise. It's not critical you go to the doctor right away though, because what they told me was "It's broke, the worst thing that can happen is you re-break it and it fixes itself." It's already re-setting itself, so they'll have to re-break it and set it if you went today, tomorrow or next week. I wouldn't wait a week, but it's not life or death.

Well, at the begining of the school year I fell in locker room, flat on my face. It really hurt. I really thought I broke my nose! My mouth was bleeding too. We went to get x-rays, and suprisingly it wasnt broken at all. Although it was ever so slightly crooked to one side. But no one could tell. Even with a really hard, and painfull fall, (it was tile floor) it wasnt even cracked. Although a girl at school later on in the school year fell on her face, and had to go to the ER and miss a lot of school. It really all depends. I suggest you go to the doctor and see if he or she suggest x-rays. Just 2 b sure! DONT WORRY!

Ice it down. Yes its broken. Take some Advil for the pain and swelling. Wait till your parents get home, tell them it was an accident and you didn't know what to do.

You can get help from your friend's parents, but otherwise I have no idea what to do. But you could put ice on it (even though it might hurt, just make sure that it's very light so that if it is broken you won't hurt it even more).
Did you try calling your parents?

Depending on where it hurts, I don't think so, what feels like bone, isn't, it's actually cartilage, the bone starts just about eye level. What I think happened is that the cartillage is broken.
