Get a Chapstick. They cost a buck, and last forever.

Even though it isn't cold sores, the best thing I've ever used on chapped lips is Carmex. It says on the jar that it's for cold sores, but that's kind of misleading since it really works great on dry, bleeding lips. First, wet your toothbrush really well. Then, gently brush your lips to get off any excess skin and to soften up the skin. Last, rub on some Carmex and leave it be. This works great - especially overnight. Use the stuff in the jar - it works better than the stuff in the tube for some reason. Works for me!!!

Lightly brush your lips with your toothbrush to exfoliate them, then apply some Aquaphor to them. You might want to make sure that you're getting all of your vitamins, because dry lips can sometimes be a cause of a vitamin deficiancy.

Use Vaseline on your lips as often as possible. It will soften them up, heal the cracks and protect them.

I use Chap Stick when that happens to me & it helps heal them. You need to keep your lips moist to keep them from cracking, so keep the Chap Stick handy.
