I had an MRI w/ contrast and the impression was a full thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon just proximal to the greater tuberosity. I am in great pain w/ limited mobility. What is the treatment for this and if it is surgical, can it be done through laproscopy or does the surgeon make an incision?

I am doing a research project for school about crutches. I’ve heard from different people that crutches are very uncomfortable and unsafe.

My first question is what exactly makes crutches uncomfortable and unsafe? Could you give any suggestions on what type of enhancements would make crutches safer, and more comfortable?

I'm a senior in high school, and I've been running since I was in 9th grade. I love it so much. This past season I did my best ever in Cross Country and I had a great time. I took two weeks off, and started running again with plans to complete a marathon by this year. Within just a few weeks, I started to get this pain on the outside of my left knee, ITBS. I've done EVERYTHING to get it away. I've done all the exercises for it, I've gone to the doctor, I've looked at every known website about it, and done every stretch daily, iced it daily, taken NSAIDS, and I haven't run or anything in over a month. The worst part is, it's still there and it will not go away. I got an MRI and all they said was that it's swollen, and I don't think that's right. PLEASE, somebody, ANYBODY, give me advice. I want to run again so bad, and I'm so depressed that I can't run or enjoy any sports with my friends. Please shed any knowledge. Thank you.

I just got over the flu and I was blowing it A LOT...The strange thing is that it is sore at the top like the bridge of my nose and it only hurts when I cough, or bend over so baiclly when blood rushes to that area. Like I said it's the TOP of the nose and has NOTHING to do with the nostrils. It almost feels like it's bruised is this a possibility?

I ate some hot spinach, not realising just how very hot it was until too late. I don't know why I didn't detect the heat before it went down my throat, but the pain as it went through me on the inside was excruciating, and as I went to sit down, I fainted, before shaking upon awakening. Is this inner burn, or shaking, much cause for concern?

This morning on my way into school, I slipped on the icy floor just inside the door of the building and caught myself from falling. However, this really hurt my neck, with sharp, shooting pains from the nape down into my shoulder- it was on my left side only. By the time I got to the nurse's office, I could not put my head straight up, and 3 hours later I still can't. Everytime I try there is severe (and I'm no baby when it comes to pain) shooting pains that last, and so my head must remain almost completely to one side, just over my right shoulder. It is constantly aching, even after max amounts of ibuprofen. I have a doctor's appointment for later but am not sure if they are competent enough to reach an answer.

What's going on here?!?

I am 32 and I just met a man who is awesome in every way except one - he's 49. I can't seem to get over this fact. Part of me thinks i'm being too picky but another part says i need someone that's not going downhill as far as sexual stamina is concerned. I'm in my sexual peak and I want this man to be like a 25 year old in the sack, which is impossible. What would you do?

I have had a cold for a few days now and got a plugged ear the second day of my cold. tonight I had extreme pain in my ear for what seemed like forever but was proably about 20-30 mins then i felt relieve and liquid running out my ear. It ended up being blood which is still slowly comming out of my ear. What is this? Is the worst over? Do I need to see a doctor? I would rather not.

I suffered from a concussion 2 weeks ago. When I tried to go to sleep tonight I closed my eyes and started having extremely bad and strange thoughts. Then I got up and felt really weird and out of place. It lasted for about 10 minutes. Please tell me this is part of Post Concussion Syndrome.

I got a big abrasion on my elbow, which I applied iodine to, it got swollen so i elevated it, but I fell asleep in that position, after waking a few hours later, my entire shoulder was numb from being in that position while i slept.
For an entire month I was unable to raise my arm above my head, without pain. now I'm able to lift my shoulder but I still experience some pain when I bring it down to my side , also I hear a small pop and a snapping sensation in my upper shoulder as I bring it down. I never thought it was serious enough to see a doctor since I never actually hurt my shoulder but just acquired this injury by sleeping in a bad position, which is very perplexing
