I have had a cold for a few days now and got a plugged ear the second day of my cold. tonight I had extreme pain in my ear for what seemed like forever but was proably about 20-30 mins then i felt relieve and liquid running out my ear. It ended up being blood which is still slowly comming out of my ear. What is this? Is the worst over? Do I need to see a doctor? I would rather not.

Sounds like a ruptured eardrum. You probably have an ear infection. While it will probably go away on its own even if you don't see a doctor, there are two distinct advantages of doing so:

1. It will go away faster if you see the doctor and take what he prescribes.
2. There is a slight risk of permanent hearing loss, and seeing the doctor will minimize this risk.

You do need to see a doctor due to the blood/infection, but I bet you had a boil that popped in your ear. Last year I had a weird infection in my ear and they gave me the best ear drop called cyprodex it works great.

Without looking at it sounds like a ruptured ear drum from a sinus infection. Very common. However antibiotics will be needed. You should see your doctor for that and to make sure that you won't have any hearing problems.

Your eardrum ruptured..The worst is over.... I would recommend getting some over the counter nasal spray to keep the tube open and allow drainage. Unless you develope a fever or you notice a marked change in your hearing. I would say you could for go the doctor for now.
