I was cut from the top of the belly button down. It's not infected, just shore and itchy. It's driving me nuts!

You can get some vitamin E oil at any pharmacy or Walmart, Kmart, grocery store, etc. You just keep rubbing it on your scar and it will help with the itching as well as diminish the scar. Something else good is aloe. It is supposed to do the same thing. We can't have you going nuts, now can we!

Anytime your body has been through the shock of being cut from the belly button down... you will experience pain. You haven't given your nerves and muscles time to heal Honeychild!
The itching can be solved with some Hydrocortozone or Benadryl. You can get Benadryl in the cream and the pill form. The pain depends on your level of tolerance. I personally can take Tylenol or 600 to 800mg Ibuprophen and be fine. Sometimes it takes more. Some women take Naproxen Sodium. Ask your doctor or surgeon to recommend something. I do not know your medical history Honeychild...

This sounds rather gross, but Preparation H makes an anti-itch / anti-inflammatory cream that works great on surgical scars. It's not the original Preparation H, this comes in a smaller tube.

The itching means it is healing and the healing process (time) depends on your body and your ability to heal. If it is not red and infected, then I would ask your doctor if you can rub lotion on it. But, don't scratch it, gently pat on it and the itching should subside.

The itching means it's getting well. Just be glad you didn't have breast surgery...
