I have had pain for several months in my hand - the meaty part of the palm connected to my thumb. I went to three doctors - two hand surgeons - and none said it was tendinitis. One actually said it can't be tendinits in that area of my hand because there is no tendon. However I have found several things online of people being diagnosed with tendinitis in that area of the hand. I have included a picture with the area of pain - it is the red line. Any info would be helpful - I just really want to know what the problem is since doctors don't have an answer for me. They have dismissed carpal tunnel, arthritis, fracture, cyst, etc. The pain is also starting in my other hand since I am using it while resting the original injury. It is deep muscle pain rather than joint pain - but rest doesn't seem to help and I thought it was tendinitis but doctors I guess didn't.

Here is the picture of the area where the pain is located(the red line):

A friend of mine just put something in my ear, I can't hear much out of that ear and it is kinda bleeding, I was wondering if I might be deaf for life out of that ear, or will it go away in the morning.

The object did not stay in the ear, and was not sharp.

We had a football game last night and one of our players had a concussion and i had to take his place in the game. He was taken away in the ambulance which came right to the sidelines to get him. They had to cut his jersey off to get his pads off. He came to the sidelines and he looked terrible. he has had histories of concussions. i saw him today and he said he wont play this friday but maybe in two weeks. i dont know his concussion history but how bad does it sound?

Several years ago, I slipped climbing out of the pool and hit my shin against a metal ladder. It hurt immediately and a substantially-sized bruise appeared, along with localized swelling. A month or more later, almost all the pain was gone and the bruise had disappeared, but the swelling still presisted. I didn't know as much medical knowledge then as I do now, and now I'm wondering, did I have a bone bruise?

Around a year ago I started having pain in the muscles that start at the 2nd joint in my thumb and go down to my wrist (the pain is deep in my palm in that area right below the thumb). I thought it was from playing guitar so I took it easy. I've stopped guitar for 4 months. I've been to phsyical therapy and two hand surgeons. I have rested my hand(the right hand) so much that I now have that same pain in my left hand - in the same exact area(I believe they are called the thenar muscles). The hand surgeons put me on an oral steroid which did nothing. They dismissed carpal tunnel, arthritis, tendinitis, ganglion cyst, bone fracture. They tell me it is overuse - but I have basically rested it for 4 months and now my other hand is hurting. Any ideas on what it could be? They tell me in order for a cortisone shot I need to have a specific pain area...how specific because I can point out the 2 inches of muscles that hurt. Thanks.

I've done it too many times to count, but one in particular: I removed the guard screen from a fan and tried to put it back on while it was ON... the screen slipped down when I was trying to fit it in the clip that held it on, and in my attempt to keep the thing from falling, my thumb was almost lopped off by the fanblades.
Yeah... thats a Darwin award waiting to happen...

But anyways.. I'm trying to come up with saftey topics, and I need some good examples.

I am 99% sure I've just had a mild meniscus tear. I've got an MRI scan scheduled for early next week.

I was doing quick squats and my knee collapsed and I think that is where the injury occurred. I was lifting lightweights trying to recondition because I haven't been well conditioned since I stop training after the Olympic Games in Torino.

My problem is that I'd due to compete on the World Cup circuit in my sport in late November.

Question 1:- For those that have arthroscopy how long until you are fully fit again and have full range of motion? And does the post-op cause you to loose any speed or power?

Question 2: Who is the best knee surgeon in your area. Or the best knee surgeon in your country?

Only serious answers please.
Thanks.

2 days ago i had went 4wheeling with a friend of mine. We were on the trail and all of a sudden i hit a patch of rocks off to the side of the trail and with it being so dry out, i slid through the sand, and i flew off of the 4 wheeler and i think i might've broken my tailbone. My butt is all bruised, it has big patches of like pitch black bruises on it. Ive been trying to hold off going to the ER because I keep hearing theres nothing they can do but i've been in horrible pain ever since then. Everytime i sit down or get up, or even move to walk or anything its so painful. Also, it feels like i did something to my neck. All of my muscles in my neck feel pulled and it hurts to turn my neck certain ways... Should i wait it out a little longer to see if the pain gets any better?

This morning I saw that my husband had dried blood in his ear. So obviously over night he was bleeding from his ear. He says it's nothing, but I'm worried. He's machinist and works with machines every day. He told me that the machines are not loud. But even if he thinks that they are not loud, they can still damage his ears, right? I told him to go to the doc to check it out, but because he thinks that it's nothing significant, he won't go to the doc. What shall I do? Is ear bleeding always a sign of something bad?
