You should probably buy a removable one if you can afford it. A hairline fracture suggests it is cracked with no misalignment.

My husband came back from Europe, having fallen off a scooter and done the same thing. He kept it on a total of about two weeks, then took it off and bought one of the over the counter wrist stabilizer things, but did not use it enough to suit me. It hurt for a few months more if he tried to carry anything heavy.

I have a patient who broke both her wrist and her hip. She has to wear her cast for 6 weeks total. It is up to the individual doctor to decide. It depends on how fast you heal. Most are about 6 weeks.

my sister just healed from one, it only took her 2 weeks, could be up to 3 or 4 for plaster.
