I would seriously not ask this question to/ take advice from anyone other than the doctor directly responsible for the person with the spinal cord injury. (Unless you're just curious in a more general way...) So much with spinal cord injuries is specific to where along the spinal cord the injury occured. PLEASE do not do anything without consulting the physician directly involved with the patient.

Check with their Neurologist or other Specialized Medical Professional that's in the Spinal Cord Injury field.

Do you take your car to a florist to get a tune-up? Then why come here for medical advice? The one person that knows the details best would be the person's doctor. He/she has seen the injury, knows the patient, and can best advise you on this.
