Buddy tape it to the toe next to it, and wear a hard toed shoe.
that's all they will do for your toe unless it is dislocated.
if it continues to bother you get it xrayed in the ER.

I've broken my toe before, and the doctor told me there's not much they can do for you. The people who talked about buddy taping are right. Put a gauze pad between the toes if you want some cushioning, and then tape the hurt to to the one next to it. If the pad gets wet, change it or just remove it. Also, wear shoes that are not too flexible for a week or two. If the toe is sore, elevate it when you sit down.

Probably broke. Don't bother going to a doctor. They can only put a splint on it. Just tape it, as the other answers recommend. It will take a couple months before it completely heals, but you'll still be able to walk around. Take some pain medication if it's difficult to sleep at night. Broke mine during a vacation and still was able to hobble around for the following 2 weeks.

The first answer you were given here is the best I've seen so far. If it's not displaced, there's not any real urgency to getting it treated. See your regular doctor tomorrow. If it's seriously displaced, or you can see obvious deformity that indicates that it may be displaced, you may want to go to the ER.
Also, I don't see any reason this would be an allergic reaction.
And finally, Brittany, you mispelled "genius", genius.

You can go to the doctor. All they are going to do is to x-ray it and say "yep, its broken". Give you some Tylenol, send you home with an outrageous bill. Nothing can be done except to wait for it to heal.
