I am Red Cross first aid certified and have bandaged it up snugly with my first aid kit. The cut doesn't look deep enough for stitches to me but he takes plavix and aspirin every day due to heart problems so I'm supposed to expect a delay for bleeding to stop, but how long?

About 4 days ago I dropped a heavy plate on my big toe's nail. I whent to the hospital because I thought I broke my toe, because it was blue, and hurting like ****.

So they wanted to poke a hole in the nail, but i said no freakin way lol. Whent home and suffered for the next 3 days. Now the toe and nail are all blue, and very red. My nail is starting to come up, and I imagine it will fall off in the near future. I'm worried I'm getting an infection, but I was seen only 4 days ago and they said it was fine, only it will be VERY VERY painfull for the next couple weeks.

Has any one ever had this happen to them, and what are the signs that somethings not right?

I read that wearing flat shoes make your knees hurt. Is this true? I wear flats everyday, and i have been noticing that my knees sometimes hurt. What can i do to prevent this?

i know- grose question. i dropped a 2 leiter pepsi on my big toe a few months ago, and i got a bruise. it doesnt hurt anymore... but i can lift the toenail up a bit, now it goes up a little more. if it falls off will it grow back? what should i do? please help!

i've never broken any bones all my life yesterday i was just playing with my causins having a race then sudenly i slpippid over kind of bent my hand and wist forward u know when u bend ur hand mine went completely bent forwards so my arm almast touched the floor when i bent my hand after that it was so painful i couldent move it well side to side and up and down it felt really swollen fom the hand bit and the bottom of the wist its got alittle better butit still hurts when i move it and carry things with it is it broken or anything and will it get better

A wasp stung my big toe about 36 hours ago. My foot is pretty swollen and it itches. I put some ice on it last night and it helped a little.

How can I get the swelling down? What should I be concerned about? Can this cause an infection? If so what should I look for? Any help appreciated...

Please don't say "Go to the doctor/ER immediately!"
1. I don't have insurance and I'm not paying hundreds of dollars, and.
2. I'm not a *****.

Doctor says I need cortisone shots to help relieve severe pain from a broken back. Anyone had this treatment before? Any side effects? How long did it (the cortisone, before needing another treatment) last? What was the procedure like? My injury happened a year ago this June. I appreciate your replies, and thank you in advance.

ok..i'm looking for opinions here....

my brother has a wound around his ankle from a boot he used to wear...it's really gross looking and the bandage he wears on it keeps turning black..he keeps using a scalpel to scrape out the thing, and when he does he scrapes out these pod like likes..they are beige and are shaped liked peas..they're hard...when he pulls them out the area he removed it from fills with blood and then starts to heal up...so my question is...WHAT the HECK are the pod like things? any thoughts? i'd appreciate it..i've been searching the net and can't found out anything...he won't go to a doctor either, so i'm trying to find out what they are so I can come up with a home remedy..he's had this going on for quite awhile now...

My shins are starting to hurt fronm running I think, Lets see... the terrain is mostly hills (up and down lol), and I am usually barefoot. It hurts on the bone right near the midddle front of my shin. Anybody know what it is, and what I should do?

Last night, a door of a car moved while I was getting into the back seat. The corner of the inside of the door caught me in the jaw just under my chin and I fell over. I saw stars!
I felt fine last night at first, but I woke up in the middle of the night throwing up, dizzy, unable to remember anything! Then, I woke up this morning with a headache, and i cannot remember anything after the injury. My friend says it is concussion, but I thought they only affected your head? Not your jaw. What could it be?

I have had severe hip and lower back pain all day. I couldn't sit, lie down, or even walk today. Could it be my syatic nerve? Will it only get worse it I don't see a doctor soon? Please help!

i have been having knee problems lately. i work out a lot and it started at the beginning of the summer while playing basketball. it just recently started hurting again except a lot more. there was never a sudden injury, it just started hurting. it is painful on the inner side of my right knee. i can sometimes feel it "grinding" and it pops whenever i use it. i have been icing it 2 times a day this week but i can not tell any difference. i have no history of knee pain ever. i am only 15 so take that into consideration for what you think it might be. my guess is that i may have torn cartilage, because of the grinding. It is also painful to the touch on the inner side right between the kneecap and thebone, in that dip. when i walk my knee will sometimes "lock up" and my knee will jerk. right now not doing anything, sitting here typing this it hurts. if anyone has an idea of what i should do please tell me, or what the doctor might say. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I fell the other day and cut my wrist on a rock. It's all infected looking now. What should I do? I am keeping it clean, putting neosporin on it, and keeping it bandaged. It's still getting nastier by the day. Any suggestions?

Wednesday 7/19 I accidently gouged myself in the eye with a hard piece of plastic, went to the E.R. they said it is pretty bad, all the way through the cornea, gave me antibiotic sauve & sent me on my way. My question is ... has anyone else had this happen to them or someone they know? If so please tell me what i'm in for...like how long am I going to be in this miserable pain & have this swollen black eye with green slimey(sry so gross) stuff comin out of it? Also I can't see too good everything looks cloudy will this go away?

I have been diagnosed with a herniation at L4-5 and L5-S1. When the dr. did a leg raise on my right leg, the pain went down my left leg, when he raised my left leg, the pain went down my right side. Is this normal? Or does the pain normally go down the side that is raised. Also a new development, I can no longer go up on my toes. Does this mean my herniations got worse? It's not because of pain, but because I am all of a sudden to weak to do so.
