i got bruised about 3 months ago on my leg playing hockey... the bruise still looks fresh (as though it happened yesterday).
also, i got cut on the arm about 6 months ago... and while it had scabbed over nicely, i can still see a very prominent mark where i was cut. (not a scar... it resembles a cat scratch...but its been there for 6 months)... and ideas on what could be wrong... or what i should do?

I am a white male who was out taking a walk by myself on Christmas Day. A black gang robbed me for some crack money, while they grinded my face into the pavement with their feet. A fourth black male who was not even involved in the crime who watched it happed from accross the street followed me inside a pizza parlor and broke my jaw just for kicks. I have had three surgeries on the left mandible. The pain is so severe that I think about suicide almost all the time. The question is only how I will do it. The last surgery was unneccessary and did the most damage. I live near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco so it's a no brainer since it's the capital of suicides jumps in the world. I would maybe overdose on heroin because I can't look down, but I don't know how to cook it or inject it and I have to be careful with the laws. If you ever get a broken jaw NEVER let the doctor drill a metal plate on. Wiring the teeth is good enough! You'll thank me for it.

I was running today in platform type sandals and I "fell" off of one of my sandals and somewhat twisted my foot. I hurt the top-side of my foot and the pain has continued to get worse over the past 3 hours. I can put some weight on my foot and I can manage to walk with a big limp and a good deal of pain. There is only minor swelling so I have figured that it is nothing and will just go away. I have iced it, but it's only hurting more and more. Could it just be a muscle or tendon problem in my foot? Any home-care advice? I have a big day tomorrow with work and if I wake up in the condition my foot is in now, I'm not sure how I will pull it off. Does anyone have any input as to what could be wrong with my foot? Thanks.

I am writing a paper on how massage therapy can serve as medical purposes. Please be honest, rude, or whatever. I just need to know what you really think.

The product works very well on pain in my knees caused by once thinking I was a football player. I'm concerned that short term benifits may lead to kidney and other problem later in life.

I just had an MRI of my lower back and it reads...
Right paracentral protrusion-extrusion at L4-5. Disc material impinges the rt. L5 Nerve root. Left paracentral disc protrusion at L5-S1. Disc material impinges the S1 nerve root.
Does this sound like I need to see a surgeon asap? I have had 3 discectomy's at the L4-5 level, but they were across the country, so I need a new doc. Should the ER have kept me and called in a surgeon?

Me and my boyfriend keep arguing about this subject. My nose keeps bleeding due to the heat. I beleive you shouldnt hold your head back because the blood rushes to the back. And he of course thinks differently. Im sure some people may have bent over to tie their shoe laces and felt all the fluids in there head rush to the front.

A plate dropped on my toe last week, and as a result, my toe was heavily bruised and swollen, becoming black and purple. Very very painful!

A few days later, my toe starting leaking dark blood and pus, which I guess was the dead blood cells. Also quite painful!

However, the toe nail has since become yellow and is just hanging on by a thin layer of skin. I can completely lift the nail up, although the toe underneath is still purple and bruised.

Should I just pull out the nail, or leave it, as it's so loose? I've been told to leave it, but think it's dead. I'm so concerned that one of my toes won't have a nail. Do toe nails COMPLETELY grow again, and if so, how long will it take?

Please help! I'm more concerned about the appearance of the toe and nail than the pain. I'm not quite sure what to do!

Okay, so I made the mistake of going outside barefoot. I stepped on something. It stung REALLY bad--like a bee sting, but twenty times worse. I don't know what I stepped on. I looked and saw nothing, put ice on it. I've been using Chortisone cream, applied ice, taking an antihistamine, and even tried a baking soda paste. I'm out of remedies. This thing itches so bad it's driving me nuts. It has also swollen slightly and is red. The red is not just around the bottom of my foot, but has gone up the side a little ways. Do I just have to give it time? Any ways to make it stop itching? Any ideas what it was? (I live in Wisconsin, if that helps you think of a type of insect it might have been.) Why does it itch so much more than any other insect sting I've ever had in my life? Is it possible it's infected? I don't have a fever or anything else. Thanks in advance for any help.

I went backpacking this weekend along the appalachian trail. Part of the trail had a really long good uphill grade that we hiked durring a rain storm with wind and everything. The wind was about 30 mph I would guess. On sunday my partner and I were pretty sore and all, but no more than I would have expected. Our packs were 32 pounds each.
On monday I noticed that my right leg just above my knee and to the right (outside) did not have as much sensation as it usually does, but I thought nothing of it. This morning I was shaving and really noticed that I did not have as much feeling there as I should. This evening my boyfriend did a needle test to check my feeling of sensations and pain. In an area about the size of a baseball I cannot really feel sensations or pain, and about a 4-6in. radius around is a reduced feeling of sensation and pain (as compared to my left leg). Please respond if you have had a similar experience or might know what this is. Thanks
