The veins in my hand move around frequently, from looking like snakes to sometimes a pretty good looking u-turn type thing. at first i thought it was just all the muscles and junk that lets my move my fingers, but i can usually push the veins around underneath my skin. Im a framer, so i do alot of hand work and so on. should this be something i need to take care of right away?

i have been having knee problems lately. i work out a lot and it started at the beginning of the summer while playing basketball. it just recently started hurting again except a lot more. there was never a sudden injury, it just started hurting. it is painful on the inner side of my right knee. i can sometimes feel it "grinding" and it pops whenever i use it. iti have been icing it 2 times a day this week but i can not tell any difference. i have no history of knee pain ever. i am only 15 so take that into consideration for what you think it might be. my guess is that i may have torn cartilage, because of the grinding. It is also painful to the touch on the inner side right between the kneecap and thebone, in that dip. when i walk my knee will sometimes "lock up" and my knee will jerk. right now not doing anything, sitting here typing this it hurts. lately it has started grinding when i walk also. what might the doctor recomend? an MRI? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

My boyfriend fell thru a glass window as he passed out recently, and got deep cuts in his back. He had 20 stitches in his back. He gets them out on friday. We were wondering if he could go swimming with the stitches. Not like swimming laps or anything, just wading around in the pool. Im not sure if its okay or not though, help please.

I have had severe shoulder pain for about 4 months now, about 2 months ago I went to orthopedics to have it looked at and they gave me a cortisone shot in the joint, It gave me about 95% relief for about a week and a half, and I have been doing the excersises he gave me to strengthen my muscles in the shoulder. I went back today still with the same pain, he said I could either do the surgery or do physical therapy for a while to see if it helps. He said I have shoulder impingement, as well as maybe a tear in the labrum. Should I go ahead with the surgery or do the physical therapy first? Thank you for your opinions.

I broke my arm on Friday (the one I write with- grrrrr). The doc gave me a splint, ace bandage & sling combo which luckily I can take off to shower. We've come up with some ideas to make life easier like getting disposable dishes to eliminate that chore, getting an automatic stapler for my work...Still, it's been pretty tricky for me, and my husband who has been trying to look after me...any other ideas to make things a little easier.

Hey, I run track and was a great runner in the 200 meters, but had an accident and fractured my ankle. I want to know if I would be able to run the same again as fast as I used to run before. How long will it take for me to run that fast again? Can someone who has a similar situation or who went through this please response. Thank You.

I fell down my stairs a couple of weeks ago and badly hurt my right foot. I have had an x ray and it's not broken but it is extremely painful and the swelling hasn't gone. When I poke my finger into the swollen part it leaves a mark for about a minute. I've heard this is water retention and I was wondering how to get rid of it? I've also heard that wearing flip flops is worse than wearing a full shoe, but if i wear anything other than my toe posts it's even more painful. Is this true? Or can I continue wearing my toe posts?

I developed tendonitis in both wrists working as a teamster in a warehouse last summer. Most of the time it's fine, but I work in an office and the typing sometimes upsets it. I also ride my bicycle everywhere rather than driving, and I get pain shooting down my wrists when I ride. I have custom splints but they are too stiff to wear when typing or riding. I prefer not to take ibuprofin or other painkillers any more often than is absolutely necessary.

I plan to see my doctor about this sometime in the next couple of months, but if anyone has any short-term solutions or suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I played a soccer game last night and went to bed with my ankle feeling fine. I wake up at 3 am and it hurts like hell, even if i just barely movie it around under the covers. I got up and tried to put pressure on it but it hurt like hell. I cant tell if it is swollen... maybe a LITTLE bit... but no discoloredness.
