Locally applied Ibuprofen gel to ease the swelling - it's better to put it on the outside regularly rather than subject your tum to more aspirin products than necessary, and it'll get right to the point its needed. Also, like Jail* said, get hot and cold compresses on it. Keep it elevated and see if you can get hold of a knee bandage - tubigrips are good if the strain isn't too bad, otherwise you may need something sturdier, which I would recommend you see a doctor for.
Arnica cream (homeopathic) is also good for strains and bruising, and can be applied at the same time as Ibuprofen gel.

Initially to reduce the swelling rest, ice, compression and elevation as with all sports injuries. After the swelling has reduced, to help the healing process warmth such as saunas or warm heat pads (not too hot). If you wear a support try to do without it as soon as possible and try to walk as normally as possible to help the injury repair correctly. If in doubt see a physiotherapist.

alternate hot and cold compresses. first a heating pad, then a bag of frozen peas. the heat causes the blood to flow to the pain source faster, the cold will reduce swelling. take Ibuprofen, not tylenol
