Take your friend to a podiatrist. They might know something that can help, perhaps some kind of treatment and exercises. Meanwhile, keep getting her the shoes.

Good luck!

the problem might be her calf muscle is not flexible enough. when she does put her feet flat on the floor does her achilles tendon hurt?(the muscle connecting the calf to the heel) If so she needs to do stretches like just putting her foot flat on the floor holding it there for a while (even though it will hurt like heck) and make a point to do it everyday maybe 2 or 3 times a day. but if it isnt a muscle flexibility issue i have no clue......best wishes.

Have I got news for her.
She is re-incarnated from an English Queen from the 15th Century.

The queens in those days wore high heels so high she had to have two escorts to hold her up. Commoners were not permitted to wear high heels by English Law.

This is because the achilles tendon is short or has tightened up. Get her to physiotherapy and see about techniques to relax the calf muscles so she can walk flat again.
