Yes, some people have had to have their legs amputated because of trauma from a car accident. And sometimes, they are not able to use prosthetic replacements. Severe infection and poor blood circulation can also lead to amputation.

Of course. Assuming you survive, and lose only your legs, you could opt for the wheelchair instead of the prosthetics.

a strange question. I have a prosthetic left leg, and suggest you keep your legs if at all possible. Alot easier that way.
