General Health Care - March 2007

Let say you eat at McDonalds and there are two EMT’s in uniform sitting down the table next to you. You fall down to the floor with chest pains. Is it the EMT’s job to immediately come to your rescue and provide medical EMS service… or do the EMT’s there call another EMS to do it?

Hi, I am 26 year old woman with 2 kids. And i am miffed as to what my symptoms are, i am in the uk and we can not self refer ourselves to a neorologist (sp) which is where i want to go, we are also registered with a certain doctors clinic where their are numerous doctors (gp's), i have seeked 4 different opinions within my clinic and have been told different things..

This has been going on for about 5 years, i had an mri of the head and i have had 2 ecg's (electrodes on my head) and they were all negative.. my blood pressure is on the low side of normal 105/60, But this past few months have gotton worse.. here are my symptoms:
pain in my right ear. (no sign of infections, just a scar from infections as being a kid).
ear feels as if theres wind blowing in it sometimes.
pain all around the ear. (skull area)
pain in my right temple following onto my right cheek.
pain just above my right temple.
pain above my right eye following from above my right temple.
pain down my right hand side of my neck as if its follows on from my ear.
my neck clicks when i move it sometimes grinds.
on a flare up i call it my right eye waters a little, and the areas with pain are tender to touch, tender when i cough, tender when i sneeze and tender when i move my head. (lasts few hours).
tingling down right side of my face.


I have been told, migrane (but i have had migrane and thats throbbing?), Trigeminal Neuralgia? tmj? ( i dont have an overbite nor do i grind, no sign in my teeth of that but my jaw does click when i open it). i was worried about it being a brain tumour but have been reasured that the pain would get worse, i would have high blood pressure, and other symptoms, and have been told that the sympoms i am experiencing wouldnt be seen as having one of these. so i am reasured of this, but i really want some answers and am not getting any.

I have been to the dentist ordered a mouthguard just incase, and i been refered to a dental consultant at the hospital, (can they do a ct scan?) been to the opticians, all is ok he took a pic of behind my eyes no shadows or anything..

does anyone know what this could be?

If your in the uk and see a neuro could you ask them for me? i am so desperate..

Sometimes my fingers get stuck in a position. I can be picking up something and my finger will get stuck and I can get it back if I shake my hand. I doesn't feel like a hand cramp it just feels really uncomfortable. I use to rarely happen, but now it happens just about everytime I do something with my hand, like today I was cooking and it happened about six times its always my thumb, index, or pinky finger. If makes my hand looked deformed. For example You know the shape your hand makes when your eating with silverware, my hand will get stuck like that even after I dropped the sliverware. About hour ago I was carrying a gallon of water and my index finger stuck and and I could not bend it at all. I tried shaking it because usually that works, but it didn't go back to normal. It was stuck like that for twenty minutes until it started to hurt really bad. My mom had to force it to bend and it hurt like hell it felt like my hand was breaking. If anyone knows what this is help!!!

I woke up at 0515 after 4 hrs of sleep to go to work Sat and i did my time i got out at 1800 but i had to go out after work for my girls birthday so i took a shower and left its now 0700 sunday and im still up and at work again and I might still be drunk, im not sure it might be just that i want to sleep. 11 more hours and i can get my wish.. no sorry i cant, 300 is playin and i have to see it so ill be up for at least 41 hours if i push it to 53 or so i can start hallucinating im thinkin about it, ive done it before and its fun but i dont know what i want more though sleep or a waking death trance.. any help???
P.S I am still drunk

This has happened to me three times. I feel fine when all of the sudden (after some movement involving my knee) my knee "locks up." It feels like there is something in/around my knee that is about to literally snap if I try to move my knee. I can't bring myself to move it at all because of this. It goes away after awhile (range of 10 mins to 1 hour) and I feel perfectly fine. What is this?

Im a 20yo female. I am 5'5 and 135lbs. I went to the hospital because I thought I had an allergic reaction but the docs told me it was an anxiety panic attack and I had an upper resp infection and sent me home with xanax. Within the last two months had horrible chest pains. I've had 2 chest xrays, blood tests, 2 EKG's and even a CT scan and everything came back normal. I've been on Zoloft for about 3 weeks for depression and panic disorder My chest pains are interfering with MY LIFE !Also in this period I was put on Prevacid for about 2 weeks for acid reflux and had pleruicy ( lung lining imflamation) and was on vicodin and ibuprofin for 2 weeks as well. Needless to say, I've been a mess for almost 3 months. The pains dont seem to be because of panic though, I dont feel panic until after the pain comes. Its in both my right and left sides, but usually one sided at a time, also in the middle and spreads to my arm pits. When it aches, so does my upper back. HELP PLEASE! STRESS?

I have walking phonomia, i'm on anti biotics but I was blowing my nose and one of my ears closed. (like when they close on a plane)

ANywayz I havn't heard anything for about 2 hours now...
anyone know how I can open it?

So far I have tryed to steam it open...

About a month ago I started having popping in my wrist. It was only when any pulling or pushing was applied to my hand, so I wasn't concerned. But about a week ago it has started to crack and have a grinding-type sound every time i move it. I have put an ACE bandage on it and used heat rubs like BenGay to try to reduce the discomfort, but I haven't seen improvement yet. I try not to use it as much as possible, but since I'm right-handed and I'm at school everyday, it's hard not to. I'm only 16 and I don't think I have arthritis, does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

i injured my knee about a week ago and was told that i tore my ACL, then i went back a few days later and they said that i tore my MCL... i have to go for a MRI on tuesday but i have noticed today that my leg keeps feeling like it asleep... my knee seemed like it had been getting better until today... i am having more pain today and the swelling is coming back... i've been doing the RICE method, as i don't know anything else to do... but what i'm wanting to know is way does my leg feel like it is going to sleep and my foot hurts? is it anything to worry about?
