I got a new super comfy couch 3 weeks ago and a few times now I fell asleep on it. The following mornings, I had some neck pains (limited neck movement) for 3 to 4 days afterwards.
...but now, I still have this slight back pain that hasn't really gone away since day 1 of getting the new couch and falling asleep on it. I didn't feel any pain when moved some boxes this weekend, but I can feel the slight back pain when I'm laying on the couch or sitting in a chair. My neck pains have diminished 90% now, but I can feel some pain in the neck when I fully turn my head. I think the neck pains have something to do with the back pains. I really don't want to spend $$ if I don't have to just to get a referral from a doctor.

I recently (last saturday) fell skateboarding and practically dove into the cement. I landed directly on my forearm (close to my elbow) and it hurt alot. I have fractured bones before and this seemed close to it. the area of my forearm right below my elbow started sweilling up and turned red and it hurt to touch, even in the lightest way such as resting it on a arm of a chair. over the past couple days the swelling has stopped but it still seems a little bigger then average and the pain has decreased but my arm is still as fragile as it was right after i landed on it and also now i have a dark blue bruise covering a large area of my lower arm. Also if it is important, some areas of where i hurt it went numb and is still slightly numb like theres something wrong with the nerves or something. I was wondering just what i have doen to my arm if there are any doctors on here i would appreciate the info they can give me

I'm 49 and had a car accident I had spinal fusion L4/S1 early Jan but have had increased pain for 3 weeks ,my consultant has xrays from last week and is quite happy with progress ,but said I was to do nothing for two more months. I have metalwork inserted and also had disc decompression as some nerves were pinched ,I would like info of anyone who has had similar op to give me an idea on the recovery time and mobility I can expect , we all recover differently I know, but to talk to someone who has been through the same would be good and ease the boredom of pottering about!!

After suddenly getting sever sciatica earlier this year (I am now semi recovered),i was refered to a physiothrapist who told me i had a subtly misaligned pelvis, she has been giving me excercies, today after my session my misaligned pelvis was visibly sockingly wonky. (My left leg is aroung 8cm higher than my right), just a few weeks previously it was more subtle, now she has refered me to a specialist.

What can they do to correct a misaligned pelivs, besides excercises, as they just don't seem to be doing anything, in fact making it worse.

I have been struggling with back pain for a long time, I've been reading up on ways to relieve it and I read somewhere that a cane might help. I don't care about how it would look but does anyone think it's possible that a cane might help? I thought canes were only for leg/foot injuries. I have this decorative cane that I've been walking with around the house and it does help a little, it kind releaves the stress on my back but I realize that if I do walk with a cane I need a proper one, I was just kind of test driving it lol. So does anyone think a cane for back pain might be beneficial?

I've heard you can get addicted to going to the chiropractor. If your chiropractor constantly adjusts your back (say twice a month) into alignment does it in a sense loosen your back up to the point where now your back is always going out of alignment with physical activity that might not have misaligned it otherwise. I got whiplash about 2 years ago (car accident)and want to stop going to my chiropractor but the neck pain seems to return in a few months when I stop going.

Happens randomly. Episodes can occur multiple times in one day or one episode in several mths. It starts off and ends the same way each time. Doesn't matter what position I may be in, but if standing I have to sit or I'll "fall out". It has what I call phases 1, 2, and 3. Phase 1 is a feeling of being oveheated. Phase 2 is nausea and dizziness. Phase 3 is weakness and a feeling of pure exhaustion. Now.. Once phase 1 hits.. a few minutes passes and phase 2 starts. Now, Phase 1 and 2 are going on at the same time. A few minutes pass and phase 3 begins, but phase 2 is starting to disappear. Now phase 1 and 3 are going on. While 3 is getting started phase 1 goes away leaving me with phase 3 which lasts the longest.. up to 3 hrs at times.

After phases 1 and 2 are completely gone, but during phase 3... I am left feeling totally exhausted. It takes every ounce of strength to turn my head. ONce phase 3 passes... I am fine just like before the episode occurred... Can NE 1 help !!!!!!!

My 58-year-old mother was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She's having a very tough time and is just miserable. It particularly bad in the mornings (from what I've read, this is common). She often ends up crying from pain and frustration. It is leaving her crippled.

Her rheumatologist and doctors have prescribed a cocktail of medications, pain relievers, and steroids, but little seems to really help. I'm trying to persuade her to try acupuncture.

If anyone has any ideas, advice, personal experiences, or insight, it would be much appreciated.
