One day I woke up with what looked like a paper cut on the left side of my knuckle. I examined it and it isn't cut open. I thought it was a burn, but I don't remember burning my finger, and it's in a line, not a round shape. On one end there is a little brown spot that looks like a scab, but it's very small. The surrounding area is very sore and red. It got slightlty bigger overnight. Does anyone have any idea what it is or if it's a blister?

I have recently cut out alcohol as I was really overdoing it. Now I cant sleep at night - I sweat, thrash about and if I do nod off I have seriously wierd and disturbing dreams. Then I have to drag myself out of bed to go to work. Constantly tired, no energy and my house is turning into a pig sty ! Think I'll go back on the bottle again as I feel worse now than before. Is this normal?

In August, I had two MRI'S: a t-spine and an L-spine both w/o Contrast. I have a bulging disc at T11-T12. The doctors states" No evidence for spinal or foraminal stenosis. No focal disc herniation". I hurt 24/seven. I am currently in Physical Therepy order by my ORTH. but from what i have read and heard from others it isn't that encouraging. I fear i may be facing surgery down the road especially if i am involved in additonal car accidents. Someone hit us so this was the result. Should I request my doctor order a mallogram(SP?) I feel i can no longer trust my md because of past experience but should i get a second opinion from another orthepaedic? I am really confused. So much especially with the insurance wanting to settle and everything. Any adivise?

What's the best way to get it off? I've tried greasing my finger with olive oil, window cleaner (but not Windex). Should I take a diuretic? How does the string method work? Please help!

This may be a weird question, but during college I get severall hours of free time, many of my friends can fall asleep in this time but NEVER can, our social room does have people in it but they al can sleep through it, I can't sleep anywhere but in a dark, quiet, bed. I'd love to be able to fall asleep in these times! Would be a good way to spend 90 minutes, does any body have any sensible tips? I put my headphones in because they block out any outer sound and normally put somethin over my face so its dark! But it still doesn't help me fall asleep!!

Any help is appreciated. I'm in the middle of quitting smoking (in fact I've quit) and I could use some encouragement etc. My family aren't making it easier - my mother says it's ok if you control it (she just has one cigarette a day) and my sister is stressing me out which makes me want to smoke. My boyfriend's great but he's not with me at the moment. Any encouragement or ideas appreciated, thanks. :-)
