Yes i have had that a couple of times, but the worst cramp i've ever had was in my throat, i thought i was dying and so did my gf as i was driving at the time and i luckily managed to pull over safely. The common belief a few years ago was cramp was due to a shortage of salt in ones diet, apparently one is supposed to carry salt tablets in the Sahara and the like. Carrying salt tablets these days could get you arrested by the salt police though.

I get these very frequently. The best solution I have discovered is to rub petroleum jelly on the ear and drink a wee cup o' tea with salt mixed in. Hopefully this will work for as well!

All muscle cramps can be helped by magnesium and potassium found in molasses (a swig is faster acting)or bananas. Because it is muscles it is worth reading a book (or at least the section that relates to it) called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches about muscles, pain and referred pain - and shows you what to do to help yourself.

Ya, i remember having something like that years ago.
Very painfull, got it after a good nights sleep, on one side.
Might be atmospheric pressure cause your head is glued to the pillow all night.
Dont know what you could do about it, Unless you sleep with a neck brace :)

You probably got an infection of the ear. Quick check with the GP would solve the problem.
The pain is intense after a long or good sleep, it kind of pinches/bites in the inner ear i know. good luck!

Nope but if you would like me to lay by your side and massage your ear all nite for you i will. I have a degree in Ear Massage from the Swedish Pime Minister Dr. Buttmunch Larson who is a world reknown specialist in ear cartlidge behaviour and its chemical properties. I do the massage with my toes but dont worry the toe jam does wash off and my bunions are good for rubbing across your face to exfoliate. I Hope this helps.

I don`t have this problem but you could suffer from a ear disorder that you should get checked out.
