One day I woke up with what looked like a paper cut on the left side of my knuckle. I examined it and it isn't cut open. I thought it was a burn, but I don't remember burning my finger, and it's in a line, not a round shape. On one end there is a little brown spot that looks like a scab, but it's very small. The surrounding area is very sore and red. It got slightlty bigger overnight. Does anyone have any idea what it is or if it's a blister?

sounds like a small cut, if it feels hot dont worry about it just put a bandaid on it. however if it is very sore swollen and red like you described get some alchohol wipes and triple antibiotic cream and wipe the wound cuz it is probably infected, but dont worry nothing you will lose a finger over, just take care of it so it heals faster and is less painful, wash your hands often too

This sounds very much like a splinter wound, the line and small scab are typical. Try removing the scab (after washing your hands well) and see if you can see the splinter. If you cant just cover it with a band aid and watch it. If it continues to swell you need medical attention to try and remove the splinter and to treat the infection with antibiotics.
