String method: Use dental floss and wind it snugly around the finger not leaving any spaces.Start on the far side of the first joint
between the ring and the fingertip. When you reach the ring work
the end of the floss under the ring, pull up the slack and unwind the floss. Keep tension on the floss in the direction of the fingertip. If that fails there's nothing for it but to go to a jeweler who can cut the ring and resize it to fit

You can try baby oil, but that never worked for me. Or you can go to a jeweler if its real desperate and they will cut it off.
What does work for me is pressing the skin under the ring. Do a little bit at a time alternating sides. This worked when pulling on the ring made no difference at all.
pressing the skin under on the direction you want to move, pulling the skin out on the other side of the ring.
of course once its off go to a jeweler and invest in resizing.

put some ice water in a bowl and soak your hand for a while. this should shrink up any inflammation (and there is bound to be some, if you have been trying to pull off a ring for a while now) and the ring should slip off. instead of taking a diuretic, try eating or drinking one (caffeine, cranberry juice, asparagus - search diuretic foods on yahoo) instead. or simply forgo salt for a few days, and that should allow you to lose some water weight as well.

Don't use hot water. Hang outside in the cold. Your fingers fingers are skinnier when they're cold, any jeweler will tell you that. Also, hold you hand above your head for a bit to drain the blood out a bit. Then soap and cold water. Twist it. All of this is for real. Other than that, bolt cutters.

Soap or hand lotion usually works. Try to turn the ring around in circles in order to work the lotion under the band. If this doesn't work, relax for a while. You have probably caused some swelling. You can try again later. If all else fails your ring can be cut off with wire cutters. It CAN be repaired for a nominal cost at a jewelers. (I know. I panicked when my hand swelled while I was pregnant.)

fill a sink with really cold water, let your hand soak in the water for a little bit, put soap all over you finger and around the ring. then gently twist it and keep twisting and pulling until it comes off. Otherwise you might have to get it cut off!!!! oh no, good luck

I've had that trouble before and had to use soft soap to get mine off. Or you may need to wait a bit for the swelling in your finger to go down: Believe it or not, there is a small range of swelling that occurs. Then 'walk' your ring off.
If that fails, you may need someone to cut it off.
Good luck!

When you put cream or something like that on your skin your skin absorbs cream and becomes a bit wider your finger so that may be a reason . If you can not achieve to get it off you should go to emergency of a hospital they have experience about such conditions they can help you in my opinion .

I had this issue once, I had stuck my girlfriend's ring on my finger and it got stuck... sadly, I had to cut it with a pair of pliers. I Vaseline doesn't work, you may try Pennzoil bearing grease used on cars... it’s thick, but extremely effective. I hope you don't have to do what I did though; it hurt like hell and destroyed the ring

Hold your arm straight up in the air, fingertips pointing at the sky....the blood will drain from your hand after a minute or so, and then quickly put the finger under COLD running water (put the stopper in the sink!) and then twist it off.
Good luck
