You don't want to see a chiropractor. You have muscle tightness---not bone/spine problems. It's just stress related.
Get a massage. That will work out the knots. (Just make sure you drink plenty of water afterwards. The massage will release all the toxins from those tight muscles into you body--if you don't drink lots of water you will feel horrible. Like you are coming down with the flu.)

This is a problem I suffer from also You need someone to rub these muscle spasms out.Accupuncture helps also,Sounds like fibromyalgia. These are muscle spasms that just wont break up.Have anyone you can try to rub these out eventually they will get smaller.I noticed when i did repetitious things with my arms I would get these spasms bad especially under my shoulder blades. Sometimes trigger point injections right into the spasm helps too.Have you tried going to the doctor?

For more information on muscles and the knots in them called trigger points and to learn how to help yourself taking care of 120 of them. Read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies (but you can start on the section that is bothering you for more immediate relief).

Heat has ALWAYS been my best friend!! Having someone rub it is always a plus too to get it out of its tight position. Advil is a plus-Doans does NOT help!! A chiropractor will adjust it and then put you on a massager with heat - HEAVEN!! Any type of relaxing is what you MUST have. Anytime you're at a computer too long and have your neck in a position too long - this is usually the cause. Good luck!

Back ache, back knot and tense knots are usually arise due to gastric problems.
1) Apply some pain relieving cream or ointment on the spot.
2) Take some anti-gastric tablets like garlic pearls or mint based tablets.
3) Keep your body flexible and supple by doing some simple yoga practice like suryanamaskar and pranayama.

Try a heating pad, or if you can get someone to gentley (at first) rub your back, increasing the pressure as tolerated. It also helps to use a deep heating rub (you can get this at any discount store). Even a hot shower might help. Good Luck!

A nice hot bubble bath works wonders! Or try a heating pad on your back on a low setting.
