When the lid came off, no blisters, but is burning and sore, apart from sitting with his hand in a glass of water, what can he do to relieve the burning sensation?

He's 3 years old. Having blood drawn soon.

Because he is so young - he kicks up a massive fight around needles.

Last time it took, myself & 2 nurses to hold him down. The whole thing was so traumatic for him.

Is there a way of, only me holding him still ?

Really don't want him, being held down again.

I did the 2 mile walk away the pounds DVD last night, using the weights, and this afternoon I noticed that my right uper arm (between the elbow and shoulder) is sore-especially when I move it. I've been doing the walk away the pounds thing for about a week now, but I've only done the one mile, and I've been really out of shape for a while. Could the soreness in my arm have to do with the extra excersise, delayed pain from doing the 1 mile, or something else? What should I do about the pain? It's not swollen, it's just sore.

Hi, I'm a nursing student on a med surgical floor. I just started working and it's my second day. I have 6 patients and all are on insulin and 3 are bedridden. I have an idea on who should get seen first but I am finding it hard to get my charting done on time. Any suggestions?

My knee will develop occasional pain and hotspots that seem to be appearing without a logical (no injury or overwork) reason. My left ankle will unexplicably swell and become very tight and sore again without a logical reason. I played basketball for many years and my knee has very little between the bones. The pain and hot spots are not constant. My left ankle is occasionally tender but not always painful. Can a cold settle into these joints and create these symtoms? I am fresh out of guesses. Thanks for any insight.

I gave blood at a bloodmobile three days ago and the man who took my blood had a problem with the needle on my right arm. He realized after just a few seconds that the blood had stopped going into the tube, and (I assume) was instead going into the tissue of my arm. He quickly removed the needle, said it might "bruise up" and got ice on my arm. I gave blood from the other arm instead and went on my way. Now, on the the side where there was a problem, half of my upper inner arm is purple, green and nearly black. It doesn't hurt as much as it just looks utterly horrific. The other one looks fine. Should this worry me?
