Never ever put cream of any description or butter or oil on a burn, it will make is worse!
Cold water for at least 10 minutes (running water is best) and then if you have any aloe vera gel put that on. I burnt my hand quite badly a few weeks back and the sap from our aloe plant took the sting out so quickly it shocked me (first time since we got the plant that it had to be used for a burn). So perhaps get one, they are quite attractive plants as well as being useful;

Cold water, Ice, aloe vera gel, blister/burn cream are all good things. Pretty much wait it out, he might get a blister eventually.

DO NOT use butter or oils, they will only trap the heat and cause the burns to be worse. I knew a girl in school who accidently got scalding water spilled on her. It burnt her leg from the hip down to her foot, her brother was the only one home and he put butter on the burn and it only made it worse... she had to be hospitalized cause the burn was SO bad.

Use a bowl rather than a cramped glass

Ice in the water will help !
soak for at least 20 minutes~~~~~~~~~~

if no ice is available ~~~~~
a small pack of frozen peas , (leave the packet sealed )
and put into the bowl of cold water =
= soak for as long as you can
note:
Cold tea ( tannic acid) instead of plain water --- ( no milk ) ----
is also very soothing.and healing ,for burns .

a clean cold compress +protective bandage for over- night

2 paracetamols will also help relieve the pain

If the skin is broken, ( it is very prone to infection)
after soaking , cover with a clean dry dressing
and see the doctor .

Do not be tempted use ointments, of any sort!

Burns / scalds are very painful.
I hope it heals up very soon

U don't ever! put butter/oil/ lard etc... on a burn, ad some ice cubes to the water. Put his hand in a larger container so the whole hand is submerged, take something for pain. You might consider the Dr. you can't tell how bad this may be. My daughter when she was a baby touched the steam part of the steam vaporizer, and had to see her pediatrician. Good luck and feel better

Do you have a fresh Aloe Vera plant anywhere in the house? It's known as the potted physician for a reason. Store bought aloe won't work for a good reason.

Rub the fresh inner leaf gel of the plant over the wounded area. Next, put an ice pack over the burn to relieve the pain right away and the Aloe will get the Cytokines and Macrophages (immune cells) to heal the wound faster because the carbohydrate in the Aloe is a long chain carbohydrate called "mannose" which are one of the 8 known sugars for cell to cell communication in the human (mammalian cells) and it will accelerate healing and wallah, less pain and shorter healing time.

Store bought gels won't do that because Aloe's healing property is rendered useless once it's broken off of the plant for any length of time. Why? Because, an enzyme breaks down the mannose (healing property) and renders it useless because there is no more food to supply the enzymes in the plant once broken from the root system.

There is only one biochemist who figured how to seperate the enzyme and create a shelf life with the carbohydrate called "manose" and patented it globally. It's expensive.

The good news is that the Aloe Plant is free. Propagate the plant by transplanting a leaf into a loamy soill in a pot. Care for the plant until it sprouts many new leaves and propagate more as gifts to family and friends.

It's in the Bible. Manna. It's the potted physician. It was carried in pots during wagon wheel days when the settlers came to America. It's thousands of years old and it's use dates back before written history.

Like I said for another burn question.
Make a mixture of plane oatmeal and ice cold water into a paste and put it on the affected area, it will help with the burning sensation and keep the area moisturized.

It is essential to cool the burn by holding it under cold running water for at least ten minutes, to prevent blistering.
It's then best to seek medical attention at your local hospital, to get the burn assessed and treated if need be.

you have to run it under cold water for 30 minutes. Never put butter or cream on it as it cooks the burn even more. I was told that by my local doctor when I scalded myself with hot water.
