No! hydrocodone is also known as vicodin, and is a mixture of a powerful central nervous system depressant and acetomeniphen. Codine is a dirivitive of morphine, which is a distillate of opium and while the two may have similar effectsm and are both controlled substances and VERY ADDICITVE!!! They should not be taken at the same time and are not the same drug.

No. Codeine( the original is not completely man made. Hydrocodone is. They both work effectively but some people are allergic to codeine and that it why the hydrocodone was made. Go to Medonline.com and ask the question to get the best advice.

No. Hydrocodone has aspirin & is in a different family of drugs. Codeine is completely different. Go to www.medcinenet.com for more medical terms and information. I do suggest that U R careful with them both. Hope this helps U.
