Last night, I ran into my dresser (it was dark) and I busted my lip and my gums were bleeding, and today I can't move my nose. I know I didn't break my nasal bone, but I was thinking i could've broken my vomer (the little bone in between your nostrils)

Anyway, I was wondering what the symptoms of a broken nose are.

Has anyone had a surgery for severe strabismus that was successful? I have had 2 surgeries and my last one made my eye worse! I'm terribly insecure about my eye, but obviously can't hide it........ I'm thinking about another surgery to try to fix it but the last one was a 10,000 surgery and did nothing.

Anyone have a success story??

I was rear-ended today. There is minimal visable damage to my car, what I can see can probably be buffed out. I was visably shaking afterward and had a headache very shortly afterward. Now a few hours later, the center of my back and one side of my neck feel mildly stiff and sore. It's a holiday weekend, so I can't get checked by a chiropractor until Tuesday, my only immediate option would be the ER - but I don't want to make too big a deal out of it... and I'm home alone with the kids, it's be a pain to go to the ER tonight. Is it OK to wait until Tuesday? Should I go to the ER tomorrow even if it was a minor accident and they won't have a back specialist in there anyhow? I'd appreciate any advice... I do NOT want to be hurt, but I want to be sure I get the care I need b/c I'm starting a new job this week that is physically demanding.

He can only grip something for about ten seconds with his right arm without having excruciating pain. Can you recommend a way for him to paddle or something else so he can at least see what we are doing even if he doesn't kayak?

What did you do to get rid of them?

I have been prescribed oxycotin now for 5 years, first its was 10mg then 20mg and now at 40mg. I was told I would be on them the rest of my life because of my disability. I also have to take 120 Vicodin a month as well as 90 Valium, Cybalta and Maxalt. The days I forget to take the pain medicine as I did once on a vacation overseas for a week with family, I was in so much pain beyond normal and I was told this was because of detoxing from my pain killers. I have tried natural remedies already, shiatsu, acupuncre, deep massage therapy, creams, ointments, you name it. the only things that work are pain medicines and i hate the dependency on them, what can I do differant?

Thanks to all who have contributed with an answer to my earlier question on SAD and beating the darstardly winter blues.

It isn't about finance with regards to buying a light box....I was just hoping that there would be something a little more straight forward out there that perhaps some of you had already come across?

There are an overwhelming number of you who use these light boxes though...so I will be giving one a go.

Please though...if you do have any other ideas....let me (and all the other sufferers out there as there are many) know! Thanks.

Believe it or not, I have sore stomach muscles from about 4 weeks of coughing due to bronchitis. It is similar to the type of pain one would have from doing a lot of stomach exercise without being in shape. By now it is extremely painful (to the point where i suppress the coughing at all costs, and if I have to cough, I actually brace myself by pressing my stomach muscles with both hands, to prepare for the searing jolt). Anyway, is there anything I can do to help relieve this? It's also difficult to sneeze, laugh, even walk, breathe, get up from a lying down position, etc. Any suggestions appreciated. :)

I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder....I hate being cold, I hate the dark nights, I hate the wet weather and I don't want to go out in it! I would rather stay in (even though when I do eventually venture outside during the daytime, it's more often warmer and brighter than inside my house!). However, the next time I have to go out, I feel that I would rather stay in and hibernate....again!

I'm fortunate enough to run my own Company....from home...which doesn't help with my motivation to get outside or to have more Winter energy inside my home!

I don't want to buy expensive light boxes or gadgets...

...I'm just looking for motivational ideas that have worked for other people.

Any ideas anyone??

I broke my ankle a week ago and my two doctors disagree on weather I should have screws put in to fix it or to treat it inoperablely. I have read alot about this break in studies and it says that there is about as good a chance of it healing with or without the surgery as long as it is cared for well. The break is on the inside of the right ankle. The joint is stable but it cracked off the piece of the larger leg bone that creates the covering over the ankle joint. What should I do? Surgery, why? Just take care of it? How? I need some advise as the doctors here don't agree.
