You can pour a couple drops of peroxide in your ears to soften the wax. The peroxide then breaks down in to water and oxygen (that's why you feel the bubbling in your ear). The residual water leaves a warm moist ear canal that is prone to infection. You can avoid this by pouring a couple drops of rubbing alcohol in the canal after using peroxide, this will make any leftover water evaporate and leave the canal dry. You should only do this if you know for sure you do not have a hole in your eardrum (if you have a history of many ear infections or tubes in your ears, go to your doctor to remove any ear wax blockages instead of trying this yourself). You also shouldn't do this frequently... your earwax is important in protecting your ear and preventing infection and debris from getting to the eardrum.
Qtips are bad because they tend to push earwax further back into the canal. I've never seen someone with a perforated drum from using a Qtip, but I see lots of people with earwax blockages because they tried using qtips to clean and just pushed the wax in more.

Last time i had an ear infection i first used peroxide, then let it thoroughly dry out and put the ear drops in. So, it does work well in conjunction with ear drops.

Like something, too lots isn't stable. I take a plastic syringe that s used for ears and positioned some drops in. in case you have a punctured ear drum, you have alot extra to tension approximately then peroxide and you will have indications.

yes, peroxide wash (lavage is the medical term) is used frequently by doctors, however it may not do any better a job at removing wax then warm water and a q tip. the q tip thing is something to be very cautious using. as you insert a q tip twist it slowly while advancing it into the ear. any feeling of pain should prompt you to stop and withdraw the q tip. if you are under 18 i'd suggest someone with skills do it for you.

NEVER pour anything inside of your ears, the inside is very fragile and the pressure could rupture your ear drum. If you need to clean the inside of your ears, visit you DRS. office where a nurse could do it, or purchase over-the-counter solution specifically made to clean the inside of your ear out... you can usually find these solutions near the contact lense solution section ~Princess~

yes its actually the method that doctors prefer that you use to clean your ears...technically youre not suppose to use q-tips b/c they can puncture the ear drum...so this is their recommended way

mix a solution of half rubbing alcohol and half vinegar. only use it at most once ever two weeks. putting anything in your ear wears down ear wax leaving you vulnerable to an ear infection
