Believe it or not, I have sore stomach muscles from about 4 weeks of coughing due to bronchitis. It is similar to the type of pain one would have from doing a lot of stomach exercise without being in shape. By now it is extremely painful (to the point where i suppress the coughing at all costs, and if I have to cough, I actually brace myself by pressing my stomach muscles with both hands, to prepare for the searing jolt). Anyway, is there anything I can do to help relieve this? It's also difficult to sneeze, laugh, even walk, breathe, get up from a lying down position, etc. Any suggestions appreciated. :)

Normally your apply ice to Acute injuries (occured within 0-48 hours upto 4-5 days. Check for the hallmarks of inflammation = heat, swelling, redness, loss of movement.

After 5 days onward try applying heat. This brings blood into the tissues which promotes tissue elasticity and healing (remember blood carries oxygen, nutrients, and removes carbon dioxide and inflammatory toxins).

Lastly, try anti-inflammatory agents, naturally via omega 3 compounds (flax oil, fish oils), and pharmaceutical like aspirin.
