A few years back I had to have part of my clavicle bone cut off because of a heaping mass of build up caused by the depletion of all the cartilage in my shoulder. Since it was a Workman's Comp injury I didn't get much rehab after the surgery, just a small, unexpected settlement. Since then I've put on weight and my arms have gotten smaller as my body's gotten bigger. Tonight I tried to do my first push-up in three years and my shoulder basically popped and the immense pain kicked back in. I bought a 5 pound of block of therapeutic "silly putty" and mess with it when I'm watching TV trying to build up my grip. Is there anything simple and low-strain that I can do so I can at least get the look I used to have. The ability to lift and work is gone but I'm missing the physique I used to have when me and my wife got together a few years ago. It's good my boss is a good man, when I couldn't do roadservice anymore he opened a position in dispatch so I can still work for him.

I'm back and only got two answers the last time, so I thought I'd re-phrase and ask again. I woke up the other morning. My tumb on my left hand was in a fixed position,,,straight. It won't bend. I can take my right hand and bend the left thumb manually, but it hurts like hell, and the bone right under the thumb hurts. I don't think it's broken......It just came on all at ounce....and I get so tired of going to the DR. Has anyone else had this>

About 6 months ago I twisted my knee really bad, but even though I kept asking her to take me to the doctor to get it checked out, she didn't. It got feeling normal in about 2 weeks, but just recently from increased intense use of it (diving a lot in volleyball, running a 7 minute mile, etc.) It's been popping every time I put weight on it and bend it when running or even just going up the stairs. My mom still doesnt think it's serious enough to take me to the emergency room, and she didn't get an appointment to get it x-rayed for another 4 days. I've been wearing an ACE bandage on it for extra support, and when I woke up this morning my whole leg from my knee down was swollen. What do you think is wrong?I'm not wearing the ACE bandage any more, but do you have any advice?

i started having pain in my right wrist about three weeks ago. i play field hockey so i thought that i might have slightly bruised the bone. the problem is, it has gotten worse: my wrist tingles sometimes, the skin is bruised, it is a little bit swollen, and it cracks or pops if i move it. i have a velcro wrap around it and tape it and ice it... but what do you think it is?

I somehow injured both rotator cuff at the start of the summer either from lifting too much or not stretching out long enought before swimming. I heard it can take up to a year to fully heal. I feel I am at 75-80% of where I used to be but when I hit the pool I can only free style for a short distance before pain set's in- Any experiences you have had with rotator cuff and what did you do to work it out.

This sounds like a silly question, but it's one I've often wondered.
First, what kind of pillow is best for your posture (neck/back/head) when sleeping? A big fluffy pillow? A firm one? Or no pillow at all or one that just keeps your head off the mattress?

Second, should just your head be on the pillow? Or should your head and neck be on it? Or should your head, neck and shoulders be on it?

Thank you in advance to all who help answering.

I've tried using baby oil in my left ear since for some reason I can't hardly hear a thing out of it. The inside of that ear itched so much and I guess my scratching caused a blockage. We can't find our eardrops either, a little help please? I wanna hear out of my ear again!

I see something like a long and curled strand of hair in front of my eyes, about 6 inches away, but in reality its non existent. And it moves as I move my eyes. Is something serious?

My mother is having pains in her back. She went to the gym yesterday morning and ever since that evening she has:
A pinching feeling in her right lower back and a cold, hurtful feeling running down her right leg and up her spine. Any slight movement aches.

My neck is stiff and aches almost constantly. I have to pop it often to release what feels like extreme pressure. Sometimes I get these horrible headaches too. My doctor gave me some pain meds that help, but I want to fix the problem not just supress the pain. i went to a chiropractor but even after weeks of visits I had no relief. I am so sick of feeling like crap from the neck up. Have you ever had this problem and what is the solution?
