i started having pain in my right wrist about three weeks ago. i play field hockey so i thought that i might have slightly bruised the bone. the problem is, it has gotten worse: my wrist tingles sometimes, the skin is bruised, it is a little bit swollen, and it cracks or pops if i move it. i have a velcro wrap around it and tape it and ice it... but what do you think it is?

Could be a lot of things. Are you on the computer or game for hours? I put a thick cushion under my wrist(s) at the keyboard & the mouse, this helped me & I had exactly the symptoms you described. the cracks & pos are probably due to the swelling. Besides taking aspirin for the inflamation & pain, you're doing all the right things. Maybe try to give it a rest, if you figure out what repetivie movement is causing or continuing to irritate. good luck.

Go get an X-ray. There are 8 bones in the wrist. The scaphoid is most often fractured. Go get it looked at before you won't be able to use your wrist.

Could be a small fracture from an injury received when you were playing hockey, or it could be repetitive strain injury or even carpel tunnel syndrome. Get it checked out.
