below 18 years of age infants with such indications are probably to get Juvenile Arthritis yet if you consider that i'm not a physician i'm uncertain. a appropriate diagnosis might prevail for detecting in case you have arthritis or not.

with carpal tunnel you get other symptoms such as pins and needles (tingling). It could be an over use injury, you have not given much details about how, when it started to hurt, your daily activies, ie, work, play sport, such factors may all have an effect.
Ice it yes, rest it and if its really painful then if you are ok to take ibuprofen then do so as this will reduce inflammation and pain. but if your asthmatic then it is not advised for you to take this medication. always read your labels.

If it's swollen try an ice pack and if it's joint pain try heating it up with a hot water bottle. Have a bath the relax the muscles. If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days go to the doctor.

If it in the joint itself, see an osteopath, if it feels in the muscle, see a good sports therapist or physiotherapist, your GP should help you.
Try icing it every evening, use a tubigrip bandage doubled up, with a gel pack in the middle.

Just wrap it up and if it's still hurting in the morn then see your GP or go to the chemist and speak to the pharmacist. You may have sprained it or pulled something.
