I had hurt my knee a long time ago. It had swelled up and turned purple. I still have a lot of problems with it like constant pain, swelling, kneecap dislocating. What could be wrong with it? I was told it could be arthritis but the dr I was seeing is a quack and doesnt even remember seeing me so I dont want to take her oppinion since she isnt sure.

I just quite tabacco chewing a few days ago, on the spot, cold turkey, after about five years. So far so good but now I seem to have a light headed/dizzy feeling. Is this normal and is it because of the lack of nicotine?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be writing, but I have a question regarding the recent minor surgery I had to my foot.

Two weeks ago I had surgery on my big toe to repair a fracture. Unfortunately, at the end of the four-week recovery, I'm going to be in Brazil. I'm looking for an orthopaedic surgeon in Brazil (near Macaé, Río de Janiero) who can remove the two pins, which protrude from my toe. This is what my doctor recommended if I weren't able to be in his office at the end of the recovery period.

An alternative to finding a local orthopaedic surgeon is simply to remove the pins myself. It seems as though all that's needed is a pair of pliers and some sterile gauze and tape.

I'm leaning toward the latter, as it seems like a very simple procedure. Just make sure to keep it super clean and protected.

I am having sharp pains in my left side right around my hip bone. They are not constant pains, just occasional. I have had them since Sunday though. I thought they would just go away, but they haven't. Does anyone know what could be causing the pains?

In the past I drank a little too much and now have completely given it up because I am afraid for my health. I recently was told that I have a fatty liver. I wonder what kinds of things I can do in addition to abstaining from alchohol and excercising more in order to make myself more healthy.

To go to and see the doctor. She quite clearly has been suffering with post natal depression since the birth of our son ( 4 months ago ) and I hate to see her so unhappy. I try to help her as much as I can , but it seems what ever I do is wrong. I've tried to persuade her to talk to someone about it but she just says that nothing is wrong. She's a good mother but she's really struggling at the moment. Any suggestions?

I have recently went to my doctor & was told that my glucose was elevated to 150 & I need to watch my sugar intake. I thought I was doing that by not eating sweets but I guess not. I do buy sugar free cookies. I am heading for borderline diabetic & don't want to go that route. I am truly trying to avoid that. My doctor also told me to watch my carbs. Is there a website I can go to for advice. I need help.

I've been really sick the past couple days and I was wondering if I could take more than the recommended dose for the Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom Severe. On the box it says 2 tablets every 4 hours for adults, but that didn't really take care of all my symptoms yesterday. I am a 23 year old male and 6'1" 200lbs with no outstanding medical conditions.

The active ingredients of the medicine are as follows:
Acetaminophen-325mg
Dextromethorphan HBr-10mg
Guaifenesin-200mg
Phenylephrine HCI-5mg

I went to the doctor on Friday because my sides were hurting and they ran tests. He said I had urinary tract infection and prescribed Bactrim, twice a day. Didn't seem too concerned about my kidneys, so I was fine with that. Also had me buy AZO to take for a couple of days so that it would lessen the burning sensation I get when I go to the bathroom, which worked, for a couple days. But now when I go to the bathroom, it's okay at the beginning, but towards the end my toes start curling and I start cringing because of the burning pain. I'm going to call my doctor when they open, but just wanted to see if you guys were familiar with this.
