Skin Conditions - December 2007

About a year ago I got this unknown scar on my leg, I had no idea what it was from. Its about three inches long and bumpy, like a dotted line. It hadn't caused any problems until about a week ago when it started itching really bad and I realized I had more than just that one "scar." It is obviously not a scar but instead something that has spread to my knee and ankle. I itch it until it stops and when it heals again, the itching continues. Any suggestions?

Okay I have a caramel complexion and everyone else in my family are either red or yellow and I am somewhat like the only one in my family that is dark skinned............I want to know if there is anyway at all that I can get my color to brighten up a bit......I really need some help I feel like a total stranger around my own family...............

I just recently moved to Texas. The climate is so hot and humid, causing me to breakout allot. I started to developed rash, flaky dry skin. I used to live in Northern California where the climate is cold and wet. And I never develop rash or dry skin when I lived in California, but now when I moved to Texas. I have so many breakouts and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I’m currently using a cleanser that removes acne and blackhead. I was wondering if I can just wash my face once a day, because if I wash my face in the morning and night, it dries my skin out so much, because of the weather.

What should I do?

a few days ago i woke up with a bump on the back of my head. it's on the lower right side. it's about the side of a marble. when i push on it, it sends a sharp pain from the spot up then it'll have a dull pain. now i'm developing a rash that is all over my body. it started at the back of my neck and now it's spreading all over my body. i haven't sustained any injuries and i dont know if it is a spider bite because i have a lot of hair so it would be hard to see it. i don't know what it is or what i should do and what's worse is that i'm not home. i'm staying with family in another state and i'm going to be here for a month. does anyone have any idea what it could be?

My sister has asked me for some advice towards my nephew's dandruff problem.He is a freshman in high school and for the past few years now hes been getting badd dandruff around the winter time.After trying H&S,selon blue or something,and other she at last resort got him some kind of non-prescription anti-fungal shampoo called niserel or something but she said after 3 uses there has been little improvement.What are some tips to helping him solve his dandruff problem?

Also, is there something I can do. I had pimple-like brownish spots on my face and I think popped due to cold weather and dry skin. I scratched one by mistake, and now I have like a line scar in effect!. I believe it has to do with acne? but anyways the bottom line is that it left marks, brownish dots and one line "scarish" left on my face. Anyone know if it is permanent or can you treat it and gain your natural skin back? I think proactive might work but I wasn't sure if it would heal or remove marks on my face. Any help appreciated.

I'm now 12-years-old and on my dads account please can your help me? i have a huge brown mark on my leg from when i had an injection when i was younger. i want to be able to wear shorts and skirts without worrying about my legs.

I got the freeze off and I used it 15 TIMES. I also went to the doctor and it didn't go away AT ALL. THe wart is multiplying. I now have 4 or five warts . one is big, one is medeum, and the rest are small. they are all on the ball of my foot. I have had this wart for YEARS. what do I do?

ALSO do you have to be a certain age to go to a profesional wart doctor??

I'm 16 and I've got psoriasis on my scalp for about two years now. Sometimes it's not that bad and other times...
I'd like to know how you feel about your psoriasis, because, it's not that easy to deal with sometimes...

I saw this cold sore thing on this girls lip while on the Metro this morning and now I think I am getting a zit or something on my upper lip. Do you think by looking at someone else and saying "Oh gosh!, I dont want to get that." actually can trigger something in the mind chemically so you now could get one of those things?

I have bruises under my eyes, they're there just suddenly! I also have small wrinkles (more like thin lines) exactly under my lids, why is that? How can I fix it? Another thing...I have really pale skin, and today I woke up and realized that, right above both my cheeks, I have a line....it's kinda red and brown. i have been told that they were ingrowns and waxing should help, but it doesn't seem to be working, nor does shaving or dilapitory creams... i have long thin legs and people tend to stare at them ... and at the dots!
is there any away i can get rid of them or am i stuck wearing pants during the summmer?

I want to get rid of acne and I heard dissolving asprin in water and adding a bit of honey to make it into a paste, and spreading it on your acne can help get rid of it. I also heard it has similar ingrediants they use in Pro Active. I don't have asprin, so what else can I use as a subsitute?

I have this bump in my pubic reigion. Originally i thought it might be an ingrown hair. But i grew to large. I recently tried to stick a needle in it because i thought it was something that might need to be poped. I was able to stick the needle downwards all the way to the tip without feeling a thing. What could this be and how could i get rid of it. I've had it for about half a year now and i would love to get rid of it!. Anything will help

help! it never ever did this unter this morning!!!!
i woke up and washed my face with apricot scrub in the shower than when i put rubbing alchohal on my face which i have been using for like months. then after it burned i washed my face for a minute and put this stuff called "pimple eraser" on. then my face burned and stinged more! hours later in the day i just put some "gentle" acne stuff on and it still stings! help! it left red rashes where i have pimples! it made me worse :(
please help thank you

Lips are fine, but the area around it is driving me nuts. It's been this way for about 3 weeks now. I've tried all sorts of things, including: Chapstick, Campho Phenique, Neosporin and Aveno oatmeal lotion. I dont now what else to try, and it isn't going away. my daughter has a stye (i think). Although, it is very hard to notice...just a small bump on her eye lid; not red. She said it was uncomfortable, but can play, and act normal etc. Do I have to put a compress on this inflamation OR can it go away by itself without touching it? I fear that if I "pop" it by a warm compress that it can potentially become infected.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I'm an 18 year old female & i recently had a staph infection (about a month ago). I was given antibiotics which I was allergic to and was admitted to the hospital for a serious break out of hives. I was put on prednizone and everything cleared up. About a week ago, I noticed a pimple type thing on my inner thigh that itched very badly. It grew to be about 2 inches in diameter and continuously itches. I soon saw another pimple type thing on my lower calf and upper chest. These 2 do not itch as bad but are very hard in the center with red all around them. Eventually the pimple turns to a scab which comes off and turns into an open wound. I had planned to go to the doctor but before i could make the appointment, I noticed my eyes were very itchy and blood shot. When i went to the doctor she said i had pink eye but was unaware as to what the rash type thing was on my body. I need some answers!!!! please help!!!
