It is an allergy. You may be allergic to that brand of dish soap. Dry skin can also aggravate eczema.

Do you have itchy, red hands? You are not alone, as this is a very common condition, affecting about 10% of women and 4% of men. It’s most common for people that do a lot of work in a wet environment. Constantly wetting and drying your hands is a common thread amongst people with hand eczema.

Some Points to Think About:
*The common feature is repetitive wetting and drying of the hands
*Cold weather can aggravate your eczema
*Regular contact with any kind of hand irritant will also make this condition worse
*The hands of parents with newborns usually get worse after 3-6 months.
*If you had atopic eczema as a child, there is about a 40% chance that you will develop hand eczema as an adult
*Your chances of developing hand eczema increase if you have a history or asthma or hay fever

I agree with the earlier answer, you need to apply oils on your hands, if you work in a kitchen I am sure you already have a tub of repcillin lying around in case of burns. I dont know if you have read more about repcillin but it is made from crocodile oil and is one of the top remedies for eczema, if you dont have a tub in the fridge, speak to the head checf and get it in.

There are many triggers for eczema, but I think in your case it is the contant wetting and drying of your hands, maybe use gloves.

Look to the many Bible references of the importance of oil being rubbed into your skin on a regular basis. Oil is the basis for many aspects of comfort. We are not creatures of 'acid wash' but creatures of liquid 'oily content'!
