My 1st son will be 3 in May, and while I was pregnant with him, I had to get off my Advair 100/50. That, to me, is the only thing that helps my asthma the best. But I had to get off of it for his sake. I'm now a month pregnant, and have to call my pulmonary doctor and tell him about it. But since 2004, has there been a new medicine like Advair that I can take while being pregnant, or have they done more studies showing that Advair wouldn't harm the baby? I know I have to ask my doctor, but I like to have extra knowledge or info before I call. If there is anything that I could suggest to my doctor, I would like any info, thanks!

My grandma has just had several chest x-rays and biopsys and now she's very weak. She's scheduled to have another chest x-ray to see if the lung nodule is malignant or not, so as of right now, is there anyway that she can get better as in terms of more energy? Like is there anything to make her seem less weak and be able to have more energy?
Thanks

I've been smoking a pack a day for three years and believe it's time to quit. It's hard, but I can handle the psychological problems. I'm having trouble with the physical symptoms. If I go 12 hours with a cigarette, I start getting nauseous and it just keeps getting worse. Smoking relieves it, but only for a few hours. I want to get off nicotine ASAP, so I'd prefer not to use the patch or gum.

I've seen that there are a couple of prescription quit-smoking drugs, Chantix and Zyban. How effective are they? Will they help with the nausea?

Lately, I would wake up with sinus headaches and pressure around the eyes and cheeks in the morning. Then sometimes I'll sneeze a lot lately and get a funny feeling in my throat and I'll have nasal congestion. But usually, after getting rid of the sinus headaches, I'm fine. How do I deal with sinus headaches and keep them from coming in the morning when I wake up, other than medication?

ok, it started as a normal cold ( sniffles, cough, lost her voice for a day ) we rode it out for about a week and it was still there- the cough, a very deep dry cough. I took her in and they said her lungs were clear, tested neg. for strep and said it was a virus. ( give fluids and rest ) well now it is going on 3 weeks, the cough is not going away - no fever, but a very deep dry sounding cough, not a congestion sounding cough. I am going to take her back in, but what does anyone else think , can you have a virus this long?

i am a twenty-one year old woman (twenty-two in may) and since last night, i've had chest pain on my left upper chest. it seems to only hurt when i move a certain way, say like to pick something up or twist to sit, or lean over. it also kinda hurts when i breathe in. i used to think i had asthma, but when i got it checked out when i was eighteen, they ran a bunch of tests and told me i didn't have it. they didn't tell me anything else. i've also recently started doing crunches every morning and i've heard that starting excersise could cause your chest wall to hurt. does anyone have any suggestions? i know it's probably not signs of a heart attack, i am so young and i don't have any of the other symptoms. but it still worries me and i feel all anxious. i thought it would go away after i slept last night, that i would wake up and feel fine but it hasn't gone away yet. can anyone help?

I am using filters to help prevent or lessen physical withdraw symptoms of nicotine. Step 1= holds 25%, Step 2= 50% and I am on step 3 which filters out 70% of the nicotine and tar. I have chest pains today that I woke up with, and a nasty cough. I've had headaches the last couple days as well. I need to know if chest pains and coughing and all is a part of possible physical withdraw symptoms. Help please! Share your experiences or whatever you can! Thanks!
