laryngitis isn't a disease itself, it's a symptom ( an inflammation of the vocal chords or larynx). By itself, it probably won'tpermanently affect your vocal chords, but you should use them as little as possible when they are inflamed.

You should go see an ENT to have your vocal cords looked at. You could have a granuloma or polyp growing on your cords.
