Yes, emphysema is a structural condition where you have large pockets in your lungs. A person with emphysema can develop pneumonia just the same as people with normal lungs.

Yes, that is why it is important for those with the disease to get yearly flu and pneumonia shots! Also, to try and stay away from someone who has a "cold", the immune system is comprised and a emphysema suffer can "catch" the cold with devastating effects.

Absolutely......More so in emphysema patients because they do not have an affective cough to rid their airways of bacteria/pollutants. Cilia within the airways are also permanately damaged, paralyzing the lungs natural ability to "sweep out" debri. Emphysema patients have too much damage and are too weak to fight off infections, especially in the lungs. That's why alot of them are always on/off the ventilator and eventually die............resp. therapist

A person with hemorrhoids can develop pneumonia...anyone can.

sure, it is often a complication because the lungs aren't fully functioning, thus more apt to get bronchitis or pneumonia.
