My grandma has just had several chest x-rays and biopsys and now she's very weak. She's scheduled to have another chest x-ray to see if the lung nodule is malignant or not, so as of right now, is there anyway that she can get better as in terms of more energy? Like is there anything to make her seem less weak and be able to have more energy?
Thanks

There are probably several factors contributing to your grandma's fatigue. First, just going to a hospital for tests is an endurance challenge for anybody. Your grandma probably had to wait in waiting rooms for hours on end, wait on x-ray techs, wait on x-ray results, and wait and wait and wait. In addition, she also had biopsies. She probably either had needle biopsies or bronchoscopy. Either way, they are painful and cause a lot of discomfort.

Now, on top of all of these x-rays and procedures, she is probably worried about the outcome of these tests. She is wondering if she has cancer; is she going to get really sick; is she going to die; things like that. Stress and worry can cause fatigue as well.

What she probably needs is a few days without doctors and nurses and tests so she can rest. You can help her by keeping an eye on her. Wait on her hand and foot for a day or two. Keep her away from the phone and just give her a couple of days of peace and quiet. Cook her favorite meal. The main thing is to make sure she rests and that she doesn't worry unnecessarily about the prognosis. She should feel better in a few days. There is nothing better than rest and a little tender loving care to make you feel better. Good luck to you both.

I don't know how to give her more energy, but I just wanted to say that the x-rays are not the cause of her fatigue. Getting an x-ray is like having your picture taken.

I doubt the Xrays would have caused weakness. She is weak because she is sick. Make sure she is getting good nutrition. For more energy, she needs to be taking a good multi vitamin and she can drink Ensure. It is high in calories and nutrition. Good luck.

that happened to my grandma too. the aging process sucks and she'll probably continue to get weaker. my grandma just drinks ensures and tries simple exercises. however, if your grandma gets too tired she may need a blood transfusion... my grandma did.
