i have asthma and today i think i had an asthma attack and it is the first time it has happened to me(im 13)! i felt dizzy, was wheezing, had shortness of breath, and i could barley see. it happened after i ran 400 meters at pe and it lasted about 20mins and then i turned back to normal after resting at my school office. My friends said it could be dehydration since i barley drank water today. My Questions are Is this really an asthma attack? Wat causes it? Wat are the Signs/Symtoms of an asthma attack?

In evenings when the temp. falls down from 29 degree cels. to 28 or less I start yawning repeatedly. The frequency is 15 or more yawns per 10 minutes. This lasts for nearly one hour, making my jaw joints painful. The period of yawning is more when I am outdoors.I could not understand the reason. Some friends say that since I smoke , my lungs crave for more oxygen.Others thought that when the temperature drops, whatever CO 2 has risen up due to heat, during the day comes down to earth level, resulting in reducing the ratio of oxygen. But then yawning effect should cover every one. Will any one kindly explain it ?

It started when I was 11 years old, and now i'm 26 and it still happens. Sometimes weeks go by where I dont' have an eppisode, but then sometimes I will get them 2 and 3 times in a day. I go to take in a breath, and I will get a random Sharp pain in my Lungs, and for the time that it's there i can only breath tiny breaths. It's scarey, and when I saw the Dr. About it when I was 15, he told me "it's growing pains". I think it's more than that, but nobody can seem to tell me what's causing it. Any ideas?

It started 10 months ago. Coughing all day long with mucus being expelled each time. These 'attacks' lasted 2 mins to 15 mins which often resulted in me vomiting and bladder weakness. My noise streams like a tap at the same time as well. I have found dry, crumbly or spicy food aggravate my cough. Or hot environments. I got some relief from sipping water and blowing my nose but suffered sleepless nights and coughed so much I couldnt leave the house! My doc gave me antibiotics did nothing. Then tried me on a rescue inhaler. I found at first this had no affect then it helped ease my coughing spells as soon as they started. Since then I have been refered to a chest clinic at my local hospital. I am now on the rescue inhaler, a steroid combo inhaler 2x a day, nasal spray, antihistomines and singulair tabs. This combo has improved my symptoms by about 50% but I am still getting the coughing attacks on and off throughout the week. Does this sound like asthma, even with no typical wheezing??

I have lost a great deal of weight and no longer have sleep apnea issues. I can sleep without the CPAP machine, but sometimes just like to put it on anyway. I guess I am just used to it as a habit or comfort thing. How do I wean myself off of it and start going to sleep without it?

my boyfriend was diagnosed with croup. they say it usually happens in young children, he's 27 and its getting worse resulting in blood being coughed up and coming out his nose. the doctor did her examination and were doing all we can at the moment to keep it under control.. ive used the vaporiser cos i heard it helped, and was told that keeping his chest and feet warm would help it so it wouldnt get set off. i've checked out info on the net but want to have opinions of others to know exactly what im dealing with..
any help or information means alot,, thanks heaps :)

The cat litter I use seems to harden like cement when it is moistened. Since there is moisture present in one's breath and lungs, it seems this dust might be quite hazardous to inhale.

I can't breathe out of my left nostril and it has been this way for year. I forget about it, because my right nostril works so well, but I do remember about it time and again and worry. Is this normal, sinuses, even though it is all year round? Is there an easy fix for this?

Which is a better setting for the air conditioner? I am an asthmatic. During the past weeks, I had to turn on my air conditioner to alleviate my breathing conditions. However I have two settings on my a/c: cool and dry. Would I be in a better state on dry settings. I normally wake up on early mornings to take a whiff of my nebulizer. Hopefully these humid conditions would soon end. Anyone with Pulmonary experience or knowledge please advise. Thanks

I work in a cold storage warehouse (50 degrees F) and it's very dusty in there. When we blow our noses, it's a bit black. Sorry if that grosses you out.

Anyway there's no asbestos or chemicals, except for dry ice. It's just thousand and thousands of chocolate boxes, pallets, and insulated boxes for shipping.

So is it harmful?
