It started when I was 11 years old, and now i'm 26 and it still happens. Sometimes weeks go by where I dont' have an eppisode, but then sometimes I will get them 2 and 3 times in a day. I go to take in a breath, and I will get a random Sharp pain in my Lungs, and for the time that it's there i can only breath tiny breaths. It's scarey, and when I saw the Dr. About it when I was 15, he told me "it's growing pains". I think it's more than that, but nobody can seem to tell me what's causing it. Any ideas?

Wow this is amazing, I have this too. But I didn't really know if the pain was coming from my lungs or heart. Either way it scares me. I have been to the doctor and have had xrays, stress tests, CAT scan all with no results as to why my chest hurts. Does anyone else have any idea?

OMG this has been happening to me.

It also started when i was about 11 or 12. Sometime is frequent and some times it doesn't happen for a few months.

Its a sharp pain when taking a breath in, sometimes even when i laugh. Its scary cause then the only way to relieve it is to stop breathing, which you cant so I take tiny breaths and it slowly goes away.

It frightened me when it happened when i was pregnant a few years back, it became frequent. I wonder what causes it

Outside of inflammation from a infection, chances are it is because you are not breathing correctly. We all slip into 'tiny breath' mode, using just the upper lobes of the lungs. Seldom do we inflate the lungs and we need to inflate the lungs. Therefore when we sigh, OUCH! We sigh, we fill the lungs and OUCH! Try to think about deep breathing at least once a day and practice it for 10-15 minutes a day.
