Hi there....
I'm not much of a respiratory expert, but I do see a lot of breathless folk.
It sounds like you need to address a few issues. First, things you can modify yourself.....stop smoking!
Second is your diagnosis (or diagnoses). Your peak flow sounds pretty low and with your breathlessness being worse at night, that does sound like asthma. However, HepC can be associated with other causes of breathlessness so you might need specialist input....particularly to exclude something called pulmonary hypertension.
From an asthmatic perspective: you should monitor your peak flow morning and night and chart it for your doctor to see. I also think you need to make sure you are using your inhalers properly (they can be a bugger to use) so get the asthma nurse to check your technique. You may then need to change to a different type of inhaler. If still having trouble, then he/she may need to optimise your inhaler therapy.
So it's a bit of self-help, common sense and possibly some specialist input.
I hope this helps.

i have similar problems,i have two puffs of my Ventolin inhaler every time i get it hared to breath,i have a more or less permanent chest infection,i have had amoxcillin anti bio-tics they worked for sometime, then i had these green capsules seven day coarse they don't work anymore neither,.enough about me..If your breathing is as bad as you say you can go to your local hospital and they will give you oxygen and a cup of tea if your lucky,...i find it helps if you avoid damp places, loads of people in the same place, breathing in cold air, don't go out with wet hair, keep warm,a long hot bath but don't go in the cold after,.

Do you smoke? (rule out emphysema/COPD) When was the last time you saw a doctor for a chest x-ray? (rule out pneumonia) Is it worse in the winter or after you've had a cold? (rule out chronic bronchitis) Have you had any night sweats, unexplained weight loss or coughed up any blood? (rule out TB) Go see a doctor.

Boy, you've got a rough row to hoe, Cloud!
Tell your doctor that the medication isn't working. Perhaps some other treatment or therapy can be tried.
Good luck!
