Not trying to sound harsh; it just feels this way, useless. Whenever a certain family uses chemicals to clean (and it is necessary far too often) the woman and a younger family member both "slow down." They'll be standing there in the middle of helping and just be lost for a bit, and there's nothing wrong with them mentally--they're sick. They both also have multiple allergies and the woman takes a variety of allergy and asthma medicines and has EpiPens. Last time she cleaned the carpets she had a severe anaphylactic reaction and went into cardiac arrest. She is always sick because of the allergies too, as is the child. She is the only one working and going to school so isn't around to fix everything the husband lets happen all day long and ends up using chemicals on stains and stuff, is always busy scrubbing or something and that makes her and the child sick all the time too. Anyway. Is there some way to prevent her and the child from getting sick & stressing others out by it?

She's had prior lung problems. She also has other health problems. As bad as this sounds : her husband would not call the medics. Someone told me via phone and I had to call them because he refused to. Needless to say, he's very angry with me, so I'm not going to go down there and have him start yelling and make it worse for her. I'm just so worried about her. All she does is clean and run the kids to places (in the car) and wait on everyone over there. There's one adult son living there (in his 40's) who could help out a LOT more. Also her daughter, in her 40's, an ex-nurse, and some teenage grandkids, who could all do more work over there since they all live there. All I know is she was vomiting severly, then dry heaving, and sweating. My stepdaughter called from the hospital to tell me about the low oxygen. They apparently did an MRI of her heart too. I already lost both of my parents, so this is really bothering me. Can anyone tell me what this low oxygen means? Thank you so much.

As an athletic trainer, I sometimes find myself in a situation where I must care for an athlete who has forgotten to bring his/her inhaler with them. Do you have any suggestions that may aid in a quick recovery when the inhaler is not available?
THANKS!

I live in Illinois and the humidity here is not conducive for sinus problems. I have been diagnosed with migraine headaches and get about 4 a mo. The best remedy I have found is Imitrex but would rather not use it all the time. I feel that some of my problem is sinus related. I can lay down, feel just fine, and wake up stopped up- big time. I can hardly, if at all, breathe out of one or the other nostril. This problem is often accompanied with a headache that centers either in one eye or the other, center of forehead between eyes, right or left temple. Naisal spray, aspirin, Tylenol, etc. are almost no help. Being in an upright position helps a little but the congestion/headache usually do not go away. I have had 2 nasal surgeries but the problem remains.I sleep on two pillows to help keep my head eleviated a little but still have the problem. Ever suffer in a similar way? What do you do to remedy the problem? Thanks.

My mother had lack of oxygen to the brain. We discovered, while in the hospital, over a choking incident, that she also has COPD. They put her on Oxygen. She has a few follow-up tests & we were told that she may be taken down a notch. Right now, her home Oxygen is set on 3. The nurse said that the test results may show she can come down to a 2. So if this is possible, I'm curious as to whether there is a chance that she may possibly ever be able to go without the Oxygen. She is 70 years old. But she had lack of Oxygen a few years back, went to the hospital for a week & came back out fine, without needing home Oxygen. I'm hearing mixed things. Some people say, "Once on Oxygen, forever on the Oxygen". The next thing I hear is that it is possible that her health may improve & she may not need to use the Oxygen 24/7. Or she may be able to quit it period...at least for a while. I would like to know the truth from someone who knows. Only serious answers, please. Thank you.

As a child I had very severe asthma but have since grown out of it, somewhat. I live like a walking pharmacy though, and I know most of these medicines in the doses I have been taking will probably lead to health problems later. My question is, I read about all these alternative medicines and some look like they may work without developing later problems, but what you read on the internet is not always reliable and I want to know the experiences people have had with them.
